Sex Factor: Episode 1 Review

The first episode of Sex Factor is live

OK, GUYS. LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS FOR A SECOND.

I love XHamster. I have always loved XHamster. XHamster is delightfully unpretentious and maybe I just don't follow them on social media or something—I don't know—but it seems like a basic web page that has really great homemade/amateur videos most of the time, almost like I stumbled upon a file of at-home-fuckers who are like, "LOL, we should upload a video of a blow job" even though they are both accountants in real life. This is my perception of XHamster—or at least it was, until I watched the first episode of their original series, Sex Factor. (Insert soliloquy about how porn is pervading mainstream media and capitalizing on guerilla marketing and native ads here.) 

So Sex Factor is your Basic Reality TV Show Competition, except all the contestants are trying to be the next big porn star and win $1 million. Why has it taken people so long to think of this concept?! (Back to that soliloquy.) I probably don't need to explain the premise to you—16 contestants go up against each other in a Big Ass Beach Mansion, competing in pornographic challenges to test who's got it. Let it be known that is the ultimate entertainment, as it includes all the sadism of reality TV and all the voyeurism of porn. 

Our host is Asa Akira, who we already knew was a badass but is also infinitely poised as our host, with the other judges: Lexi Belle, Tori Black, Remy Lacroix, and Keiran Lee. It's a different space to see our favorite performers, even in today's world of pervasive social media. The thing both my editor and I were most surprised by was the production quality—the show is like every other reality competition you see on the big networks. But YOU GUYS, IT'S PORN. THERE'S A BLOW JOB COMPETITION.

I'll be reviewing every episode in detail moving forward, but I don't want to give any spoilers if you haven't yet hopped on the Sex Factor Bandwagon. There's an orgy pool party, a few people crying, and squirting. It's like MTV if they showed any of the good parts.
