CVS Trades Cigarettes For Vibrators

CVS Pharmacy made headlines last year when they banned cigarette sales in their stores, but it looks like they're making some interesting moves to counter that revenue loss. Namely, they've decided to begin selling high end We-Vibe sex toys.

According to Refinery 29 (link below), 6,000 CVS stores in America now stock the We-Vibe Fling, a couples' vibrator that is priced significantly higher than their usual sex toy selection.

While it's not the first time that the pharmacy chain has offered pleasure products — it has stocked battery-charged massagers from brands primarily known for their condoms, such as Durex and Trojan, before — the Fling is the first toy created by a vibrator company to hit CVS shelves, We-Vibe reports. And, it packs a powerful punch. The silicone, USB-rechargeable toy provides nine vibration modes, and at $79.99, it's more affordable than the most recent version of the company's eponymous couples vibe, the $179 We-Vibe-4-Plus.

This is part of a movement to rechristen the current "Family Planning" aisle where lubricants, condoms, and various and sundry are sold now as a "Sexual Health" aisle, a much more accurate and digestible moniker, to be sure. Hopefully this pans out for them, because this country needs to do something to normalize sexual health and wellness.
