“Draw” Is A Work Of Art About A Work Of Art

When it comes to modern art (and even some abstract) I often find myself scratching my head. I’ll admit that often I just don't get it. Even when I read the little story behind the art, I still don’t get it. But for the art piece being created in this video, I totally get it.  

Draw, which is posted on Vimeo (the link is below), is kind of a behind-the-scenes video for a photo shoot for a piece of art being created, but that doesn’t take away from the awesomeness of the video. The art being created involves a nude woman, Miya Sato, drawing lines around her nude body in attempt to “an attempt to capture the sensuality of mapping out personal space with graphic line.” The artist is leaving it up to the viewer to decide if the art is successful or not, but I’m sure we all agree the art is pretty damn successful.  

This video may be about creating a work of art, but it’s a work of art on its own. I have always said that there is nothing more beautiful than a nude woman and it needs to be captured in a work of art.
