Lane Bryant’s Cacique Hypes Curvy Girls in Sexy #ImNoAngel Campaign

Lane Bryant's Cacique lingerie line has launched their new #ImNoAngel campaign.  It is a dig at Victoria's Secret and their super-thin Angels and their "The Perfect Body" campaign from last year.  That particular campaign featured very thin Angels posing under the banner “The Perfect Body.” The campaign caused a lot of controversy and an online petition accused the lingerie label of “irresponsible marketing” by setting unrealistic body expectations.  Victoria's Secret quietly changed the slogan to "A Body for Every Body", which doesn't seem to mean anything, really but it is better than a store in the mall telling pre-teens that they aren't perfect unless they look like an Angel.

The Cacique campaign features plus-sized, curvy women (the store caters to women sized 14 to 28) and shows really pretty models in black and white photos talking about what makes them sexy.

“Our #ImNoAngel campaign is designed to empower all women to love every part of herself. Lane Bryant firmly believes that she is sexy and we want to encourage her to confidently show it, in her own way,” Chief Executive Officer Linda Heasley said in a press release.

The ads can be seen in Lane Bryant stores, on television, in print, and on billboards, and are also on the brand’s social media accounts.  I am such a fan of all women feeling hot and I love this campaign.
