Will This Vagina Kayak Ever Float?

null

Back in July, I reported on Japanese authorities squashing artist Rokude Nashiko's beautifully filthy dream to build a functional kayak based on a 3D printed mold of her vagina. Well, just when she thought she could finally get that baby out on the open sea, she was arrested once again.

According to The Guardian (link below), this latest arrest of Nashiko—whose real name is Megumi Igarashi—is eerily similar to her first one five months ago, when she was arrested for breaking obscenity laws.

(O)n Wednesday, Igarashi was re-arrested on suspicion of sending a link “that shows her plan to create a boat using three-dimensional obscene data to a large number of people”, a Tokyo police spokeswoman told AFP.

She “tried to have those people who were willing to finance her plan download the 3D obscene data” in October last year, the spokeswoman said. Igarashi also allegedly sold CD-Roms containing similar data during a May exhibition in Tokyo.

For her part, the artist is not deterred one bit.

“I don’t believe my vagina is anything obscene,” Igarashi said in a press conference in July after her release, adding: “I was determined I would never yield to police power.”
