This past August, 41-year old Sonoko Tagami was one of dozens of women who participated in a "Go Topless" event along the Chicago lakefront, when she was ticketed and threatened with arrest by two Chicago police officers for violating the city's "indecent exposure" ordinance. Well, now she's striking back and has just brought a lawsuit against the city.

According to CLTV (link below), Tagami is seeking unspecified damages in the suit, which was filed by her attorney Kenneth Flaxman.

Flaxman insists his client was wearing opaque body- paint on her nipples when she was approached by two female Chicago police officers who cited Tagami for violating the city’s “indecent exposure” ordinance– by being topless.

“We’re seeking protection for basic rights protected by the 1st and 4th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States,” Flaxman said. “You can’t enforce that ordinance if you don’t like what someone is saying, which I think what happened.  And the ordinance also seems to apply uneven treatment to men and to women.”

The city has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
