Instagram Activist Chelsea Handler Posts Topless Pic To Prove A Point

Never shy about showing off her body to prove a point, Chelsea Handler posted a picture of her topless astride a horse to her Instagram account yesterday in an act of defiance towards the website's double standard regarding nipples.

According to Pajiba (link below), the photo above which was designed to mimic Vladimir Putin's Tinder profile pic, was originally accompanied by the following caption: “Taking this down is sexist. I have every right to prove I have a better body than Putin.” That's when the fun began.

Per Instagram’s policies, however, the photo was quickly removed. “If a man posts a photo of his nipples, it’s ok, but not a woman? Are we in 1825?” she responded to the takedown. Of course, Handler being Handler, she reposted the image with the following caption, “If Instagram takes this down again, you’re saying Vladimir Putin has more 1st amendment rights than me. Talk to your bosses.”

Instagram pulled it down again.

This isn't her first tussle with the social media site, nor do I think it will be her last, nor should anyone want it to be. Keep fighting the good fight Chelsea!
