1) What kind of girl were you back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?

I was friends with all different types of kids and didn't fully join any one social crowd in high school. I was really into theater and drama club and did several play through high school. I dated the same guy on and off all four years, he was a couple years older than me and on the wrestling team. My best friend was a cheerleader and the homecoming queen two years in a row, I on the other hand only wanted to be at school for theater and avoided all other school functions.I was the kid that ditched class to go sit in the park and read my own book under a tree.

2) Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?

I did watch porn all through my adolescence, a lot of porn actually, and I went through many different phases of genres I preferred. Never had a favorite porn star though, at the time I did not view the performers as significant at all, their sole purpose was just to be vehicles helping me reach my orgasmic destination. Due to this, I now understand why civilians have a hard time accepting us as porno folk as people, I had this problem to a degree before entering the industry myself.

3) What do you think shaped you into the performer that we see in your porno?

Practice makes perfect. I remember reading a quote that said one can achieve mastery in any field if they practice it 10,000 hours Being a good performer is all about being genuine and authentic while still playing to the camera to create a truly stunning, erotic piece of visual art. Just as an artist who is honing their craft, an exceptional performer improves with each performance.

4) What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?

I don't have a favorite performer per say, I'm most interested in working with experienced professionals. My fans have made such a huge difference for not only my career, but for my life in general. They have given me unconditional support and love in a way that I have never experienced before. I never knew that perfect strangers' could have such a profound effect on my overall confidence and happiness.

7) What’s your favorite position to get fucked in and why does it get you off?

I will always go with doggy style. I actually lost my virginity in this position, by my own choice, not because my boyfriend insisted. It just felt so instinctual and perfect, and still does, for what I wanted to feel, which was a cock deep inside me.

8) How was working with Otto Bauer in “Boss Fantasies”?

9) What is one thing you would teach a woman who wanted to be a better sexual partner?

My best sex advice to young women is to relax and enjoy yourself. Focus less on how you look, and focus more on how you feel. Too often in our culture women are disconnected from their pleasure and are wrapped up in over analyzing how sexy they do or don't look while having sex. I can tell you first hand, the sexiest thing a girl (or any person) can do is to simply feel confident and empowered in their own skin.

10) What are the best things about being a porn star?

I don't know that I'd consider myself a "porn star".. I've tended to shy away from the term as it's always felt a bit self indulgent whenever I've tried the phrase on regarding myself. So, that said, some of the best things about working in porn, whether you're a star or not, is, at least for me, the freedom of being able to make your own schedule. I have never worked in a freelance position quite like this before, and, frankly, it's pretty overwhelming all the fun you can afford to enjoy with lots of free time and extra cash. I feel very grateful to be where I am today, I have loving fans, a warm home, clean water and delicious, healthy food to fill my belly with. Life is good! :)

11) What did you enjoy most about being directed by Jacky St.James?

Jacky is a phenomenal director, no matter what she's doing she always puts her heart and soul into it. Whenever she gives me direction I feel how much she cares and how deeply important making a high quality product is to her. She always give the most comprehensive, thoughtful advice and direction. She draws out the best in us actors and seems to always know what to say to get the amazing performance she wants and knows we're capable of.

12) So where did your porn name come from?

Initially I was just "SweetKush" back before I got into mainstream porn and was just webcamming and creating homemade content. Then, a few months before transitioning into big production porn, I was advised by a camgirl friend to get myself a "real name". SweetKush was cute but I needed an actual name, a dignified title, so I scoured a baby book until I came across a name I'd always loved; Karla. I thought, "hmm, Karla Kush, that has a nice ring to it," and, just like that, my current alias was born.

13) Who are your role models in porn and how/why do they inspire you?

I would say I look up most to the photographers, videographers and directors. Mastering a visual art, the more creative side of the production process, is quite impressive and admirable to me. To master such a craft, or any craft, requires so much effort, commitment and passion. If I still work in the adult business five to ten years from now I hope I will have retired as a performer and moved on to the other side of the camera.

14) Have you ever actually had sex with a boss you have had?

No, never, although I did have a fondling incident at one of my first and only retail jobs. I was working at a certain preppy, "surfer", youth centered clothing establishment (won't say names but let's just say the lights are too dim, the music is too loud (and awful) and it reeks of their signature scent. It felt like I was having sensory overload every single day I worked in that place.).  I was 17 at the time and was hired and usually supervised by the early twenty something male manager. One night shortly before closing, the store was empty and the manager and I were the only people working, he asked me to come back to the break room with him. When I walked in he was giving me a weird look and told me to reach in his pants and grab his dick. 15) What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

I am not a big fan of mainstream media in general. I tend to enjoy more offbeat, fringe type entertainment. I love to watch documentaries, indie and foreign flicks. One of my favorite independent films that I think everyone would watch is called "You, Me and Everyone We Know".. Also, "Wo die Grünen Ameisen Träumen" (Where The Green Ants Dream) is a fantastic German film that I love.

16) How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

I've only ever purchased one porn DVD and it was a lesbian movie by Triangle Films called "Lesbo Suburban House Slaves", other than that, tube sites have always been my main source of porn. The only performer I've ever masturbated to that is working in the industry now (at least that I know of) is Manuel Ferrara, but I didn't know who he was when I was getting off to the video years ago, he was just an average porn dude to me.

17) Are you into toys to get yourself off alone or are you a low-tech woman?

My Hitachi has most certainly become my main go to item when it comes to getting off real quick..
