Scientists On The Cusp Of Growing A Penis

EDITORIAL FEATURES

You said it Jasper, what a time to be alive indeed. According to Newser (link below), scientists have finally put all those important scientific breakthroughs on the back burner to finally get to work on something that matters... Growing a penis in a lab.

Genetic defects, penile cancer surgery, trauma, and even erectile dysfunction are all reasons a sizable number of men might opt for a bioengineered penis. A team of researchers has done it successfully with lab rabbits, reports the Wake Forest School of Medicine, and they've spent the past six years scaling up so that a human patient might soon have a penis made from his own cells biopsied from salvageable tissue and then grown in culture and ultimately transplanted.

As far as I can tell, penile cancer surgery is the only truly noble reason to get a transplant, but you can bet all the limp dick congressmen in D.C. will be lining up for a dick transplant once this thing gets underway. Nevertheless, science never fails to amaze, and I'll probably look into an upgrade if and when this becomes a reality.
