Hot feminist director/performer Courtney Trouble--the blonde in the happy pileup above--has just released her first title through Pink Velvet, Smash Pictures' new imprint, titled "San Francisco Lesbians". The occasion of this release made it seem like an excellent time to ask Trouble to tell us what she loved most about the lip lappers of the fair city she calls home. Here's what she had to say.
Courtney's 5 Favorite Things about San Francisco Lesbians:
1. How ACTIVE they are!
San Francisco lesbians are always working up a sweat, whether it’s lifting at the gym, jogging in the park, or lube wrestling at the local queer bar. I couldn’t resist writing a script for Daisy Ducati and Dylan Ryan, two of the buffest babes I know, to get down after a good workout.
2. How ROCK & ROLL they are!
The Bay Area has such a long rich history of queer punk girls going hard. I should know- I'm one of them! I wanted to pay homage to that with a groupie fantasy scene, and I think Kinky Gaga and Ella Nova brought it to life.
3. How KINKY they are!
I remember moving to San Francisco as a baby femme dyke and being so into the older women and their perverted ways. It’s those memories that informed a scene where a young femme (Minnie Scarlet) hooks up with a much older power lesbian (Simone Sonay), to incorporate that pervy older/younger vibe. I have to say, though, that SF's sapphic kinks go way way deeper (and harder) than just age difference!!! ;)
4. How OPEN they are!
San Francisco has a long rich history of nonmonogamous pride and exploration, which is why the threesome scene in this movie (between Maxine Holloway, Siouxsie Q and myself) is a total love story. Hidden gem: there's a real poly couple in this scene, and it's not the one on screen!
5. How STYLISH they are!
From casual comfort to the highest of high femme, San FranciscolLesbians have a unique style that turns my head. Each scene in San Francisco Lesbians shows another side of our fashion, whether that be strappy bodysuits or short shorts, ripped fishnets or flannel shirts. Though my personal favorites? Sneakers and hoop earrings.
