Hot and generally awesome in every way MILF performer Alana Evans pens "The Stoned Gamer", a regular column on video gaming for High Times magazine. She also has a new single,"Perfect", available from iTunes, Google Play and Amazon. She also has a great website and an awesome Twitter feed. Here are her five favorite video games.
Since I have been gaming from the beginning of the console revolution, it's easy to say I have played my fair share of video games. While there are so many that have literally changed my life, I have decided to share my favorite choices.
Gears of War, my favorite third person shooter, is one the best games created. I'll never forget feeling the rumble pack in my controller go off when I was killed for the first time. I actually remember being startled, thinking this game was way too gory for me. Once I picked up the gnasher, my favorite weapon, which is a shotgun, and blasted my first Locust, I was completely in love. Marcus Fenix, Cole Train, and Anya were my favorite characters. Taking place in a post apocalyptic world, the COG soldiers, aka Coalition of Ordered Governments, work together to end the takeover of the Lambent and the alien beasts known as Locusts. While I love blowing things up, I definitely prefer taking on nasty beasts versus human characters.
One of the best series of games of all time for me is BioShock. There are three different games within this series, and I love them all. I think the reason why I enjoy this game so much is because of the differences between the first two games and the final installment. In the beginning, you travel to an underwater world called Rapture. As you are trying to figure out the secrets of the story, you encounter massive machined men called Big Daddies and their sweet, Adam filled followers known as Little Sisters. While the story may seem complicated, the gameplay is incredibly intense. The third game in the installment, BioShock Infinite, takes you to the sky! Your artillery includes hand cannons, powerful machine guns, and awesome abilities such as killer crows, electric shock and more!
An obvious choice for a girl like me is South Park's The Stick of Truth. I am a huge fan of the TV show and an even bigger fan of role-playing games. The Stick of Truth is based on a few different iconic episodes from the television show: Game of Thrones and Taco Bell Coming. and even South Park's Jesus is part of the action. Like classic role-playing games, you can upgrade your characters, upgrade their abilities, and purchase different weapons based on your skill level. I love the different kinds of characters you can choose from. You either play as a mage, a fighter, and you can even play as an awesome Jewish lad. The game is filled with South Park's raunchiness and of course your favorite characters from the show.
One of the best games ever made is Grand Theft Auto. This game that originally started on the computer has easily become one of the most infamous titles of all time. Unlike your typical driving games, Grand Theft Auto allows to do things you could never do in real life, unless you plan on doing life. Whether you want to get some action from a hooker, rob a local gun store, or complete the many missions the game offers, Grand Theft Auto delivers realistic graphics, an awesome soundtrack, and more. The most recent release, GTA V, let's you stir up trouble in an online open world. The destruction is endless!
With all of the amazing high-tech games available, I must admit my absolute favorite is an oldie but goodie. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is hands-down my all time favorite game. Growing up with arcade games and an Atari, the invention of the Nintendo was life-changing. As the console grew, so did the awesomeness of its games. Ocarina of Time is my favorite of all the Zelda games, simply because it was so awesome. Link, who is often confused with the Princess Zelda, whom you are always attempting to rescue, is my hero. You travel across the lands, completing quests, learning magical songs on your Ocarina, and defeating some of the baddest bosses you've ever seen. Even though it's considered a retro game, I still play it all the time!
I can't agree with Evans enough about Bioshock and the South Park game. If you don't have Bioshock Infinite or the South Park game for your console, you are totally missing out!
