Minna Limon: The Next Generation Of Vibrator?

EDITORIAL FEATURES

LimonProducts_LARGE_largeTwo and a half years ago, Minna introduced the Ola, a vibrator with a revolutionary interface. Instead of being powered by buttons and switches, the Ola's vibrations were controlled by a squeezable pad: squeeze softly, and the toy would vibrate lightly; squeeze harder, and the vibrations would get that much more intense. Better yet, the Ola offered a simple way to record and remember vibration patterns, creating a highly customizable toy able to cater to just about anyone's whims.

Now, Minna is back with a new addition to their line of pleasure products: the Limon. Like the Ola, the Limon is controlled by a squeezable interface that ramps up vibration the harder you press; but it's smaller, lemon-shaped, and has an updated user interface. But does it improve on the Ola?

Overall, I'd have to say yes. While the Ola had a somewhat confusing two button interface (one button to turn the toy on, another to record and play back patterns), the Limon streamlines things with a single button. One tap of the button turns the toy on and puts it in free play mode, which allows you to play around with vibrations and see what you like. Once you've figured out what the toy can do for you, a second tap sends it into record mode, where you can pump out the pattern you'd like your Limon to learn. With a third tap, you're in playback mode, with the Limon vibing to whatever beat you've programmed into it. Can't remember how many times you touched that button? Never fear: there's a helpful icon that lights up to let you know if you're in free play, record, or playback. (And, for those wondering, when you're finished playing around, one long press of the button puts the Limon to sleep.)

Of course, the fanciest button interface in the world isn't necessarily going to give you an orgasm--but thankfully, the Limon's able to live up to its own hype. While it's not as strong as, say, a Magic Wand, it's pretty intense for such a small vibe. And what it lacks in sheer, raw power, it makes up for in variability: if you've ever felt frustrated with the pre-set vibrations on your toys, then the Limon just might be your new best friend. Whatever you can dream up, it can create for you (well, assuming your dreams are limited to vibration patterns, anyway).

Which is not to say that the toy is completely perfect. While the small, compact size is nice, it can also be a little frustrating at times, too. Minna's packed a lot into one small surface, and between squeezing the toy and manipulating its buttons, it can sometimes feel a little cramped. But don't let that stop you from checking out the toy: a little awkward negotiation between pressing buttons and squeezing the toy is a small price to pay for the creative freedom it affords your vibrational experience.
