A Field Guide To Raylene

Continuing our exploration of XBIZ and AVN nominees (and tasty pornstars who only have first names), we're spending some quality time with the ravishing Raylene. She's up for four XBIZ awards and three AVN awards, and you better believe that both organizations put her on their respective MILF lists. Homegirl is clearly a wild cougar.

Raylene was born on February 12, 1977 in Glendora, California. We weren't able to find much about her youth besides the fact that she wanted to be an actress when she was ten.

Her entry into the adult industry happened gradually. This young California girl was partying with some friends in Lake Havasu City and there she met Shane of "Shane's World" fame. They stayed friends after that, and when she decided to take the plunge into porn a little while later, she contacted Shane and performed her first boy-girl scene with Mark Davis in "Shane's World 4." That was in 1997!

The following year, Raylene signed an exclusive contract with Vivid Entertainment and stuck with them until 2001 when she retired from porn. Vivid didn't have anything to do with her retirement--she says she enjoyed herself there and found Vivid "pretty laid-back"--the decision was based on her personal aspirations:

I retired because I promised myself I would get an education in some type of field other than adult entertainment by the age of 27. When I met my ex-husband Brad, I saw the opportunity to start a potential family life with him. I took a risk and left the business to set out and accomplish my goal earlier than expected. I got my real estate license and practiced as an agent.

Of course, there's more to being an agent than taking a few tests and knowing about houses. Raylene had to change in big ways.

I've been in a business that doesn't consist of sex at all, and in a place where I had to keep the "Raylene" character on lock down so to speak. I had to learn a whole new way of proffessionalism. Living among what us adult entertainers sometimes call "civilians" in combination [with] becoming a mother has rewired my brain.

Nonetheless, Raylene was good at her job and even helped friends and acquaintances from her early porn days find homes. She kept up feature dancing for a while (she once said, "I prefer dancing over movies. I love interacting with the crowd and meeting new people") but then retired from that in 2004.

Then, for a time, all was quiet on the Raylene front.

(Except for in 2008 when she was admitted into the AVN Hall of Fame.)

And then she came back to the adult industry in 2009! The real estate market was hurting, she and her new hubby Ethan were looking to expand their sexual experiences, and going back to porn seemed like the right thing to do. Raylene's first DVD since returning was "Raylene's Dirty Work," and though she doesn't do anal all that often, this film featured a sizzling-hot boy-boy-girl anal threeway with Jerry and Mick Blue.

Unfortunately, we don't have a clip of that specific scene, but to make up for it, here's a clip from "A MILF's Tale 2" in which L.T. takes her ass and then eats her sweetly and so on and so forth.

What's next for Raylene? We're hoping she continues to appear in porn roles that test her acting skills--especially since she's been nominated for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress this year--but she's expressed a desire to be done with porn by the time she turns forty (in five years): "I don't want to be having sex for a living. I'd like to own a company of some sort... whether it's adult or not is fine by me." Porn isn't her passion, but that doesn't mean she's not a damn fine pornstar. She's also a mother and a wife and a lover of soups (vegetable tortilla soup is one of her favorites), so you'll have to forgive her when she withdraws that amazing body and heart-melting smile from the adult industry.
