Look at these two: they love each other and they show it with their bodies. Perhaps the whole movie is about how well they get along thanks to their healthy diets, philosophies, and sex lives! Oh, wait, no, it turns out that the guy--a struggling martial artist and dancer--falls for another man and the three of them try polyamory.
That doesn't sound too bad. Yes, it definitely hurts Astrid Berges-Frisbey to have her one and only crave the affections of another human, but in the grand scheme of things--especially in the wide spectrum of cinematic calamity--that's not too bad. If this were a horror film, all of that snuggly goodness and petite breast suckling would lead to something gruesome. Astrid should thank her stars (in fact, we all should) that she's not having sex with monster bait.
