There are tons and tons of beloved "lesbian" moments in film, but most of them just involve kissing. While we love us some lip locking, we're trying to run a smutty site here, and we need something with a little more pizzazz (and nudity). That's why today's menu features women who gladly break the rules about love (and clothing).
1. Summer Lover: An American newlywed named Sappho (no joke) is vacationing with her husband on Lesbos (for real) when she suddenly develops a strong attraction to a young woman named Helene (surprise). Yes, this is sounds like a strange adaptation of the poetry of the real Sappho, but not really. Our heroine gets involved in a bunch of girl-centric adventures, has ladies go down on her on the beach, and even hops in bed with her husband a couple times, although she still fantasizes about Helene. It's the perfect thing to watch on a sunny day when you don't want to go leave the house because of the disappointing dearth of girl-on-girl action outside.
2. Aimee and Jaguar: What's cooler than a story about German lesbians fighting the Nazis? The fact that the story is true! Lilly Wust is (well, was) a mother of four and the wife of a German soldier who falls for Felice, a Jewish woman who works for an underground resistance movement. Lilly is strongly attracted to Felice's strength, and she realizes that she can give herself to a fascinating cosmopolitan woman much more easily than she can to a man. In some way, we feel silly focusing only on the naked parts of this film, but honestly, we think you'll enjoy the whole thing; we're only here to tell you, "Yo, German lesbians fight Nazis and get naked."
3. Inescapable: Chloe and Jessie are carrying on a steamy affair right behind their girlfriends' backs! And we get to watch! Rather than spoil the fun for you, we'll just relay what a few Netflix reviewers have written:
"Finally, a lesbian movie without men trying to insert themselves into the relationship in some fashion, with a good ending, and not filled with Barbies."
"This movie was about 80% sex and 100% bad acting."
"The acting was contrived and the music was horrible...Yet there was something that made me stay the entire time."
"There's just SO MUCH smooth jazz."
