A Field Guide To Rachel Roxxx

We wholeheartedly agree with AVN's decision to nominate Rachel Roxxx for Unsung Starlet of the Year. Come on, she's spectacular! We don't mean to disqualify her by singing her praises, but she shows up all over the place, and she definitely deserves some direct Field Guide-style loving.

Rachel Roxxx was born on March 2, 1983 in San Antonio, Texas. When she was growing up, she wanted to be a veterinarian, but that all changed as soon as Discovery Channel debuted Animal Planet: "I started watching Animal Planet and I realized that it made me feel too bad when animals died! So I couldn't do it!" Being a pornstar is certainly nothing like being a vet, but her parents are supportive of her life path all the same.

Many pornstars find their way into the industry via stripping, but this is not so for Rachel Roxxx; she was a waitress at Hooters! How did she go from slinging wings to banging boys? While she was living and working in Houston, a friend of hers put the idea in her head. She had barely seen a single skin flick, but after a couple years of mulling it over, she packed up everything she had and moved out to Los Angeles to appear in her first movie, "Shane's World College Amateur Tour 2: Midwest." In a 2008 interview, Rachel says that she isn't exactly proud of her first performance: "I don't wanna talk about it; lets just say I've come a long, long, long way." But hey, it couldn't have been too bad, right? It's been four years since she first entered the industry, and she loves it; she revealed in an interview with Luke Ford that, "It lets me express myself the way I really want to express myself."

Not long after entering the industry, she became co-owner of a lingerie boutique in L.A. with fellow pornstars Nick Manning, Michelle McLaren, Sarah Jesse, Mike Butders and Justin Syder. According to Nick Manning, their landlord company decided to sue to evict them because of their professions. Manning told AVN: "Their issue is because I'm an adult star. We have diligently adhered to the guidelines provided to us by the zoning board. Now the landlord wants to evict us and keep the [$90,000] advance rent merely because the store is owned by adult stars." Unfortunately, we're having trouble finding out how this debacle ended, but we're that Nick Manning's wrath was a helpful asset. (It always is!)

Real estate troubles aside, Roxxx has enjoyed a casual climb to pornstardom. In 2009, she was nominated by AVN' Best All-Girl Group Sex Scene for "Bad News Bitches 3" (with Penny Flame and Lexi Belle), and in 2011, AVN nominated her for Best Group Sex Scene (for "Bonny & Clide"), Best POV Sex Scene (for one of our favorite 3D movies, "The Virtual Reality Stimulator 3D"), and Unsung Starlet of the Year. Second time's the charm, right?

And in case anyone in charge of awards at AVN is reading this, we'd like to reiterate that we're not praising Rachel Roxxx. Come on, why would anyone praise a gorgeous, talented, funny, intelligent young woman who had a scorching hot double penetration scene this year? That's silly. (However, we happen to have a clip from that movie in this gallery, so there's that.)
