Porn Valley…The Musical?

When we think "porn musical," the first thing that comes to mind is "Squeal Happy Whores!" (The second thing that comes to mind is fear and nausea.) Theater company The Civilians is trying to change that association.

In their latest project, The Civilians have teamed up with Centre Theater Group (the people who got "9 to 5" on Broadway) to create the world's first major musical about the adult entertainment industry (no, "Squeal Happy Whores!" doesn't count). And, what's more, they're not just sitting around their apartments dreaming up a story about what porn is probably like—no, they're actually looking to incorporate the stories of real directors, performers, producers, and crew.

So maybe it's like "Rent: San Fernando Valley"?

We're certainly eager to find out.
