Nominations Are Now Open For The Feminist Porn Awards!

The Feminist Porn Awards in Toronto are back for a sixth year—and this time, they're adding an amateur night, too. Want to be considered for an FPA? Read on and learn how to submit your work.

1) Good for Her is thrilled to present the Sixth Annual Feminist Porn Awards. The Feminist Porn Awards honor pornographers whose groundbreaking work offers a fresh perspective on the sexual expression of women and everyone who finds themselves under-represented in mainstream pornography. The deadline for submission for the Sixth Annual Feminist Porn Awards is FEBRUARY 15 2011! Once again, we are asking smut makers from far and wide to submit their movies for our consideration. Winning categories (may) include things like: Hottest Lesbian/Dyke scene or movie, Most Deliciously diverse Cast, Hottest Kink/Fetish scene or movie, Sexiest Straight scene or movie, Most Tantalizing Trans scene or movie, and Steamiest Website.

In order to be considered for a Feminist Porn Award, submissions must meet at least 1 of the following criteria:

· The work depicts genuine pleasure, agency and desire. These movies may also include a focus on connection, communication and collaboration between the performers and/or between the performers and filmmakers.

· The work expands the boundaries of sexual representation on film, challenges stereotypes and presents a vision that sets the content apart from most mainstream pornography. This may include depicting a diversity of desires, types of people, bodies, sexual practices, and/or an anti-racist or anti-oppression framework throughout the production.

2) We are really excited to be adding a third event to the Feminist Porn Awards this year – Public.Provocative.Porn: Amateur Night. This night is a showcase of (relatively) new pornographers showing short movies (10 minutes max) and will be held on Friday, April 8th at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto.

Good For Her wanted to add this night for a couple of reasons. First, at Good For Her, we think that one of the best things that the Feminist Porn Awards does is create community, and we wanted to be able to do that for filmmakers who are just starting their smutty journeys. It is also amazing that the Feminist Porn Awards are able to expose so many people to uplifting and revolutionary porn, and there are a lot of people out there who have amazing things to offer audiences, but very few venues to show off their work.

SO! We are once again taking porn out of the closet and onto the big screen! The deadline is FEBRUARY 15 2011! Help us continue to create porn community and support independent porn! We are looking for: hot, smart, feminist porn that takes women into account as viewers, and is under ten minutes long. Easy peasy.
