Ace (And Fap Through) Boning 101 With Better Sex Video’s “Sexplorations”

So this is actually my first dalliance into the realm of informational video -- the aim here is to teach couples to get in touch with the art of good boning. Now, I don't consider myself too much of a novice on this front (I mean that sort of humbly), and there is still info here from which even a bonafide hussy can benefit (or do to remember). Still I feel this series is primarily aimed toward couples who are a bit repressed in the fuckzone -- but more power to 'em for picking it up, 'cause we're real advocates of letting inhibitions fall the heck away.

The set I picked up is the Better Sex Video Series®: Sexplorations, which is a whopping four disc set that includes: Volume 1 - Advanced Sexual Techniques and Positions, Volume 2 - 22 Sex Secrets, Tips, & Turn Ons, Volume 3 - Erotic Sex Play & Beyond, and a CD of sexy music. Phew! There's definitely no shortage of content here.

The title of the first volume I feel is a bit of a misnomer -- it's pretty basic but very solid stuff. But firstly, you have to get over the hump of muzak and mega-cheese that's typical of educational-style DVDs. It's easy enough to get there, though; it's kind of like the first 15 minutes of a musical. Anyway, once in you just accept it. Basically the first hour here explores the technical side of male and female anatomy and male and female orgasms, then delves into the finer arts of foreplay, oral sex, dirty talking, erotic massage. I feel that most of this foundational information is here to ease couples into the intimacy and language required to openly talk about sex more than impart unknown factoids. But seriously, getting comfortable with all this stuff is definitely the bottom line in taking your slamming to the next level.

For couples that aren't openly smutty, I can imagine sitting through all of this would be useful for easing into the meat of it all -- and all along, the information is illustrated by quite lengthy "illustrations". (And, yes, I am the consummate total perv that thought the educational sex scenes were hot. What can I say.) But still, the part I was most interested in was the sex position portion, which comes at the end. Here, too, I found it was mostly positions I've experimented with, but there were some new stances and modifications that were thought-provoking.

I stand by my initial claim that this DVD would be best received by those who are as of now a bit uncomfortable with sexuality, or are perhaps in a sexual rut. There's no, like, tantric, twisting triple-penetrating craziness or anything like that here. What there is is frank discussion (and showcasing) of kissing, foreplay, fellatio and cunnilingus, sex toys, anal play, mutual masturbation, roleplaying, fantasies, and such that would be very helpful in getting someone out of their sexual shell.

The second volume is a logical next step, delving further beneath the basics to get more into some action -- it explores the importance of seduction, the fun and historic sensuality of sexy dancing for your lover, the joy of with and without partner masturbation, adventuring out of the bedroom, and delves a bit into BDSM and power play at the end. If one is looking for a nonintimidating door with which to open that Pandora's box and lead their partner in, this is a very vanilla way of doing so. Again, more power to ya. Volume three too takes things yet a step further and is my favorite. It's full of helpful information about introducing new things into the bedroom, like sex toys, fantasy, porn and anal play -- the latter I found would be probably most useful as far as instruction and technique go in introducing something likely unfamiliar to those watching. I picked up some tips myself, too! And throughout the series, the concepts and techniques are brought to the viewer through the stories of couples' experiences, both positive or negative, immediately accepting or trepidatious, which all further lends itself to the theme of the entire series. This is to impart that the general, overarching, huge, foundational bottom line is to communicate. There is no good sex without it. And whether you're really interested the finer points of dirty talking, female orgasm, how to utilize a glass dildo, introducing roleplaying into your relationship, and the whole wide array of topics this series touches on, I feel its main benefit lies in the open, comfortable, very real manner in which these couples address it all.
