A Field Guide To Kelly Brook

Oh sure, we've lusted after Kelly Brook for years: ogling her first full frontal photos, admiring her nearly naked Instagrams, actually paying money to see her in "Piranha 3D"... yet in all that time, over all those years, have we ever actually taken the time to get to know Kelly the woman behind the bodacious boobs? Friends, we're ashamed to say we have not: but that ends today.

Kelly Brook (formerly Kelly Ann Parsons) was born November 23, 1979, in Rochester, Kent. As a teenager she moved to London to study at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts – and it was London where she launched her modeling career, after winning a beauty pageant her mother entered her into at the age of sixteen. From there, a star was born: though Brook may not have had the figure of a fashion model, she was more than well suited for work with lingerie campaigns and lad mags – and boy howdy, did lad mags ever like working with her. A few years into her career, Brook caught the eye of The Daily Star, whose editorial team made the decision to feature her as a Page Three girl – and, we dare say, never looked back.

Of course, Page Three isn't the only only publication to have featured Kelly Brook's sexy physique: GQ, Loaded, and FHM all featured the buxom babe in their pages, with FHM even granting her the top slot in their 2005 list of the 100 Sexiest Women in the World (a list, we should note, that she's appeared on every year since 1998). And lest you think that lads are the only ones who've noticed the glory that is Kelly Brook's body, we'll have you know that one year after she topped FHM's list, Grazia magazine published a poll of 5000 women that revealed that even among ladies, Brook was considered to have the best British female body.

With those kinds of accolades, you might expect Kelly to rest her perfectly shaped bum on a bed of incredibly comfortable laurels. But friends, you'd be expecting wrong. Not content to merely be one of the world's sexiest women, Brook has worked over the years to expand her empire beyond merely modeling in various stages of undress. Some of her projects have been connected to her modeling work (her fashion line, New Look, offers women luxury lingerie and swimwear modeled by Brook herself, she also reps Unilever's Lynx body spray, presumably because of the appeal she holds for adolescent boys). Others have have been more far afield: over in Britain, Brook's made a name for herself as a TV presenter and reality show host, appearing on such fully clothed programs (programmes?) as The Big Breakfast, Celebrity Love Island, and Britain's Got Talent. And then, of course, there's her acting career, which has neatly combined her love of being on camera with her love of being nearly naked.

Brook's acting career launched not long after she began modeling, with a small role in the video for Pulp's "Help the Aged." Throughout the aughts she picked up roles here and there – Lex Luthor's girlfriend on "Smallville," the lead in the aptly name School of Seduction – but if you ask us, it was Piranha 3D that truly gave her her biggest breakout. A campy gorefest that allowed Brook both the chance to act and the chance to be naked and wet, Piranha 3D wins our adoration both for the nudity contained within its confines and the nudity it generated in the press. As promo for the film, Brook appeared naked in numerous publications, including Playboy and Love. Sadly, Kelly was not included in the film's sequel (Piranha 3DD, because of course), but we suppose all good things must come to an end some day.

Not that the good things have come to an end for Kelly, mind you: riding the wave of Piranha 3D, Brook surfed to ever higher heights, with even more movie roles (as well as her aforementioned lingerie line). And lest you think it's all business for Ms. Brook, allow us to give you a peak into her personal life: this past spring she announced her engagement to David McIntosh, a former Royal Marine and reality TV gladiator (who, if we do say so ourselves, seems like an excellent fit for Brook – seriously, take a look a these pictures of the two of them together). 

A gorgeous model, a successful entrepreneur, a talented actress who's soon to be a loving wife: sometimes it seems like there's nothing Kelly Brook can't do. And sure, we know she's probably not going to fly a rocket to the moon (or is she?), but given how good she looks naked, we're not sure we really care. Actually, scratch that, we definitely don't care. (Though for the record, if she ever wants to fly a rocket to the moon while naked, we just want to say that we are totally into it.)
