Sorry, You Have to Buy the Blu-Ray to Watch Game of Thrones Nude Clips
HBO isn’t a network to shy away from nudity, but when it comes to other sites posting their nudity, they get kind of pissed. HBO has been cracking down on sites like PornHub playing their clips.
A spokesperson from Home Box Office, Inc. told The Sun they were “in the process of getting material taken down from Pornhub” and sending thousands of letters to anyone who uploads clips, scenes, compilations, and full episodes off websites. It would seem that HBO wants to see Game of Thrones nudity on their terms.
HBO has a long history of issuing takedown requests. It averages around 120,000 URLs requested to be stricken from Google each week. The network recently went to war with Game of Thrones prediction YouTuber Frikidoctor by issuing takedown requests for his spoiler-filled vlogs. HBO even tried to get VLC Media Player taken down back in 2013 . . . for some reason. Those attacks both went about as well as HBO’s slow quest to get Westeros off of Pornhub.
I mean, on the one hand I get it—it’s a business, but on the other hand, why can’t a fan make a little video of their favorite moments from the show? If it’s on a free site and they aren’t making a profit off it, what’s the big deal? I’m sure we could debate this for hours, but instead, why don’t we just watch a clip from Game of Thrones!
