Fleshtunes: The Rodney Moore Edition

EDITORIAL FEATURES

Rodney Gets His Groove On!

AVN Hall of Fame performer/director Rodney Moore loves to play his own music, but he loves to listen to it, too!

1. "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground) - The Jacksons. Totally repetitive, but what a groove, and it builds slowly but surely. Sometimes, I play this song before I go play competitive volleyball and it always gives me a little edge.

2. "Marlene" - Todd Rundgren. Todd, like me, plays all the instruments and sings all the parts on most songs. This song is still my favorite of his. I liked it so much. I once married a girl named Marlene. Todd is shamefully not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

3. "I Just Wanna Stop" - Gino Vanelli. I moved from Connecticut to Seattle in the late 70s and I didn’t know anyone except the owner of the recording studio, who moved me out to be his engineer/producer. The very first time I made love to a Seattle girl, this song was playing on the radio. To this day, it moves me when I hear it.

4. "You Don’t Love Me When I Cry" - Laura Nyro. The bass player in the band I was in at the time sat me down and played me this album (New York Tendaberry). I was amazed. Her songs on this album are so intimate that it’s almost uncomfortable to listen to. She influenced my song writing more than anyone.

5. I Want to Hold Your Hand - The Beatles. My life was changed forever (along with a million other soon to be musicians), when I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. Really, any Beatles song could go here, they’re all my favorites.

Be sure to follow Moore on Twitter to keep up with all of his dirty doings and here's what I am listening to right now. Have a great week!
