Only in Florida: Now Is Not the Time for Politics

In my column Only in Florida, I'll be taking you down to the Sunshine State for the latest and greatest sex stories that can only be found in the craziest state in the union.  

Right now the eyes of the nation are on Florida because of Hurricane Matthew. The governor has ordered people to leave their homes because of the dangerous winds and probable flooding. Making sure that we all are updated on what is happening down in Florida, a few brave reporters are out in the field, giving us up-to-the-minute, real time reporting, possibly risking their lives for us. And if you happen to be someone who comes across one of these brave reporters, perhaps you should thank them or tell them to get to shelter or scream “Dicks Out For Harambe!” Well, it’s Florida after all.  

In case you are not sure what the hell “Dicks Out For Harambe” means, it’s regarding Harambe the Ape, the 17-year-old Western lowland silverback gorilla from the Cincinnati Zoo that was tragically shot and killed at the after a child fell into his enclosure back in May. Apparently social media gave birth to the “Dicks Out For Harambe” movement . . . let me hide my shock. So this Floridian who decided not to evacuate but rather to check out some “bitching waves” (I’m guessing that would be the term he used) felt the need to make a political protest during a live news report about the dangerous hurricane just off shore.  

We have to give some props to the reporter for not slapping this guy across the face, not so much for interrupting her, but clearly his dick was not out for anything. Words don’t mean anything if you aren’t willing back it up with actions, my Florida friend.
