James Deen Sued By Documentary Producer for Allegedly Blocking Distribution

TV/MOVIES

Did James Block a Showtime Documentary About His Life?

Performer/director James Deen has blocked the distribution of a documentary that covers the rape/sexual assault allegations made against him last year, according to a lawsuit filed against him by the film's director Maria Demopoulos.

According to the lawsuit as reported by Variety, Deen went to the production's office and took the production's signed model and performance releases. Without those releases, the film cannot be shown at film festivals or on Showtime, as the film was originally supposed to be. The film contains details about the allegations made against Deen and Demopoulous alleges she was not paid for the work she put into the project after she had to do more work to update the film when the violence allegations against Deen came out.

Last year, Deen was accused of rape/sexual violence by performers Stoya, Tori Lux, Ashley Fires, Joanna Angel, the late Amber Rayne, Kora Peters, Nicki Blue, Lily LaBeau, and MTV "Teen Mom" Farrah Abraham. Evil Angel, Kink, Greg Lansky, and Doc Johnson cut off all ties with Deen following the allegations.

Deen's attorney declined comment to Variety on the suit.
