Still Lifes With Sex Toys

There are more than a few sex toys that we would classify as works of art: the sculptural creations by Myla, Njoy, and Sanrio come to mind, as does our old friend the Hitachi Magic Wand (though admittedly more for the effects it has rather than aesthetic considerations). So it makes perfect sense that artist Pat Hobaugh uses sex toys as the subject for a series of lush, finely detailed still lifes in which dildos, vibrators, and strap-on harnesses share the canvas with things like half empty bottles of vodka, small Asian figurines, and pieces of fruit. (All of which we've seen used as sex toys too on occasion, come to think of it. Guess these paintings make more sense then we thought.)
