Preview: Joe Gallant’s “Avenue X”

Porn auteur Joe Gallant shipped his lovingly edited three-hour plus epic "Avenue X" to VCA at the end of July. While he's waiting for their edits on the movie (which we predict will be something to the effect of "Joe, we really don't like this milk-enema squirting scene"), we thought we'd give you a glimpse of what's to come. The only person really fit to describe Avenue X is the director himself: New York's porno prodigal says "It takes place in 2010, in NYC, at a time immediately after the outright purchase of the U.S. government by global conglomerates. Into this fascist stew arrives a benevolent alien intelligence with a powerful gift for mankind... oh, and there's a ton of hot greasy anal/atm throughout, along with a lot of my chamber music and big slabs of industrial noise. We shot it all over NYC, in the Mojave desert and in downtown LA. It's like 'Natural Born Killers' meets 'Alphaville'."

"Avenue X" is basically the feature movie version of Gallant's cable access show "Strange Light" which appeared biweekly on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network a few years back, and was pulled after the head honchos at MNN actually saw the show and declared it obscene. ("Obscenity violations" are a badge of pride to wear as far as we're concerned.)

Gallant's latest offering stars Kimberly Kane in her first on-screen anal scene (administered by Alex Sanders), features Tommy Pistol and Veronica Jett through a lot of the story, and also offers up scenes from Trina Michaels, Michelle Aston, Brian Surewood, Simone Valentino, Dino Bravo, Tatiana Stone and Kenny.

And yes, friends, the rumors are true: Joe is selling his Hell's Kitchen apartment and moving to LA, where he says he's found an amazing industrial space in which he can make music and porn and create his own little world of filth and glory. New York will miss him ... and LA only has only an inkling of what she's got coming.
