What is Realcore?

Somewhere between the stage lights, makeup and 35mm cameras of a high end studio and the shades down, candle-lit bedroom of your average suburban couple is a new aesthetic in pornography where real people display their sexual desires anyway they see fit. The development of low priced digital cameras and video recorders, combined with the greatest distribution tool ever invented - the internet - has created a world where anyone can be a pornstar and do it on their own terms. Italian artist and self-made sexual anthropologist Sergio Messina calls it "realcore" and we think the name fits like a nice leather glove. He explains that realcore "goes beyond [traditional hardcore], striving to portray the reality of the [amateur] scene and the true desires of the participants ... the future is here ... and it's sweaty, it's sticky, and it swallows." Hey, we're definitely on board with that.
