Tokyo Rubberist Gathering

Good to see that residents of Japan with a love of non-breathable fashions finally have a local club that caters to their fetish (because of, you know, Japan's traditional antipathy towards fetishists). Considering that Tokyo is one of the most fetish-friendly cities in the world, we're wondering what took them so long—could wanting to meet up, dance, and get drunk with people wearing nothing but rubber animal masks and full body suits be unusual even in Japan?
