Porn Valley Dispatch: The Porn Fork

The impending marriage of porn temptress Justine Joli and porn blogger-cum-director DCypher appears to be one any emancipated male would approve of: he will continue to be the only man with an all-access pass, and she will continue to bring hot girls home. But it was not always roses and tolerance for DCypher and Joli who are, respectively, the director and star of Cal Vista/Metro's "Prisoner", up for AVN's Best Video Feature award this year. The porn world in general faces its own double standard like the one illustrated above: "The Porn Fork" is a catch-all term coined by the couple to describe the excitement and revulsion the statement "I'm in porn" has on the adult industry's version of Muggles ... or what people in the biz also call "Civilians".

"We were at a dinner party and this woman picked up the fork I was using and ate something with it," DCypher said. "Then a look crossed her face and she went, 'Is that the porn fork?'"

It also happens when people are about to shake your hand while you mention what you do for a living. They quickly jerk their hands back as if you personally have been fisting the populace of every Greyhound station in the San Fernando Valley.

"She tried to play it down," DCypher continued, "but she meant it. I might make porn for a living, but my utensils are clean!"

"Probably cleaner," Joli added. They are shopping for simple claddagh rings. "Lots of diamonds look too gaudy," she said.

(The fork woman incidentally, is now the couple's bookkeeper. "I make it a point to tell her every time we write her a check that this is porn money," DCypher said.)

"Prisoner" is not high-concept, as we Hollywood weasels like to say. It involves prison, flashbacks, Goth girls, murder, regret, and foster care. (Luckily, Maya Angelou is one of the judges this year!) "A woman has her husband killed for drug money by her slimy boyfriend and she goes to prison," DCypher explained. "The movie is told in letters to her daughter, now in a foster home. The woman hooks up with a prison guard, tries to escape, goes to the chair."

With no clemency, one presumes. But you'll have to watch the video to find out.
