Avy Scott interview

There are stars who are timeless. Avy Scott is one of those heavenly bodies. On a personal note, she is the only adult entertainer who reminds me of somebody who I know. Her appearance and demeanor are qualities that make her very relatable from such movies as Lesbian Legal 4 and The Divorcee. It's for that reason why her raw and intense performances are so effective. The audeince does not expect that type of behavior from her. It's on account of this shock to one's system that Avy Scott will always be timeless and leave an endearing impression on the viewer and this industry.

Hi Avy, you are better than ever. For those fans who are not aware of you, how long have you been in the industry, what have been your most pleasurable moments so far? What has been your least pleasurable?

Thank you! I've been in the adult biz since November 23, 2001...Yes, I remember the exact date lol. I'm the typical woman when it comes to remembering things...a memory of an elephant!

The most pleasurable moments I've had in this business I'm splitting it up into two time frames. 1. When I first got into the biz and 2. my second round in the biz.

1. Believing that this is "the safest sex I will ever have"...This enabled me to fearlessly explore my sexuality and do things I felt too vulnerable to do off camera. I could always use the excuse that "this is my job" and put my insecurities to the side and just go for it! What an amazing experience! Meeting people of like minds, I felt like I finally belonged like I had an extended family.

2. This was probably the hardest decision I could make at the time. I got back in at the end of Feb/beginning of March '09. I remember being on set when I was approx 22 casting judgement on girls that were in their late 20's thinking," I'll have my money saved and have my shit together when I'm that old." Boy, did I have to eat those words lol. Economy goes to shit and student loans came in...and I'm one of those girls? I'm extremely hard on myself and others. I do not write this with the intention of insulting anyone. This is just my experience and I'm brutally honest. A turd is going to smell like shit either way...so why waste the time with spray painting it, ya know? This was the catalyst of accepting myself and the choices I've made...No more hiding=dying my hair dark brown and hiding behind my glasses. After three years of being out of the business I could finally begin to merge the two sides of myself that I've felt I needed to keep separate. It's a daily process.

Seeing the people that I've thought about and missed so dearly, even if they didn't remember me, I am so grateful for.

The least pleasurable moments are the contractions of STD's, especially HIV outbreaks. My heart goes out to those people. I think they are completely avoidable, yet they still run rampant in this business. I think a lot of people in this business ignore this fact, or are in denial, and do not talk about it much....and I find this absolutely unacceptable! I think there are voices that need to be heard, but no one speaks up about it based out of fear or losing fans and or work....but if we did, maybe things would change.

It's no doubt that in 2009, you had an incredible year with strong performances in Raw 2, Lesbian Legal 4, and Breast Meat 2. 2010 is starting off extremely well with your outstanding scene in The Divorcee. What does it mean to you that the industry's movers and shakers still have so much confidence and reverence in your acting skills and professionalism?

Hmmm. I never really looked at it that way. This is like any other business. They hire girls and guys that sell movies. I don't take much personal (good or bad). But without them hiring me to begin with I wouldn't have fans. So, I thank them for giving me another shot...especially acting. When I first got into the biz I REFUSED to act. I use to say, " I am getting paid to fuck, not talk. So, if you want me to talk you'll have to pay me A LOT more." Hell, I took 4 years of French in high school and NEVER had to say a word of dialogue in class.  I'd just come in on my lunch beak and go over it with the teacher. I had stage fright REALLY bad. Still do a bit. Now, I enjoy it. It's fun playing pretend. I'm getting better at it the more I'm hired for it.

You have remarkable sexual chemistry with both men and women. What traits of a woman do you admire most? What makes a woman sexy? What traits of a man do you admire most? What makes a man sexy?

I don't separate the two. What makes people sexy to me is their confidence in themselves. The attitude of "I am as I am. Take it or leave it.", turns me on like nothing else! I like someone that takes care of themselves, hygienically. My favorite part females, physically, is their feet, thick legs, thick ass, and a purdy mouth! My favorite male physical traits are their thick legs, thick ass, nice shoulders, and of course their mouth. I love kissing. There isn't enough of it in porn.

What makes a scene good for me is knowing or thinking that they want to fuck me...that they have a yearning to be with me. If they don't, I want them to fake it as best they can...I'm like a guy in that way, I guess lol.

What was the biggest surprise for you about the adult industry when you started? How has the industry changed over the years?

The biggest surprise for me was how we got paid. Being a fan of porn before I got it, I thought they got paid a lot more per scene and or received royalties...

I don't think it has changed THAT much since I've been in the business. I've notice less talent smokes cigarettes, not many sets have catering anymore, there is more male talent, more male talent are using things to keep their dicks hard, and there's more escorting going on.

Are there any industry people (actors, actresses, directors, etc.)
who you have not had the opportunity to work with yet and want to very
badly and why? What would be your dream scene?

Nina Hartley!! I don't really care how or where. Just her! I think she's an amazing woman! When I noticed she was following me on Twitter, I got a little twinge in my goody parts ;-D

The hottest thing ever would be for as many fans as possible watching me fuck. I'd love to do a live sex show!

How were you as a kid growing up?

I was a pretty serious child. Kept to myself. Overweight. Nerdy. Overly sexually active at a young age, but manage to keep it from even my close friends.

What are your hobbies and interests?

The only thing I do that I'd classify as a hobby is yoga and exercise. I have a therapy practice where I use hypnotherapy and NLP=Neuro Linguistic Programming. The most fulfilling job I've ever had. Human behavior is endlessly interesting to me-especially my own. I'm passionate about self discovery and what drives peoples' behaviors. I study shamanism, quantum physics, and Neuro Linguistic Programming. Currently, I'm in school majoring in Bio Chemistry.

What is your favorite thing about being an adult performer?

It's always been about the sex and being to express myself...while people watch, of course ;-)
