Wicked Girl Jessica Drake interview

Ever since her career began, Jessica Drake has always had an aura of professionalism and confidence attached to her. Fans could always sense it as they watch her even while her beautiful and gorgeous exterior grace the screen. This Wicked Contract Girl makes everything look easy. It's her driven preparedness that has been an underlying factor in her success. Jessica Drake is a person who would had been successful in anything that she placed her mind on. Luckily for us, this special Hall of Famer decided to perform in and make adult films for our viewing pleasure. 

Hi Jessica, congratulations on your amazing wins at the AVN Awards for Alice in Wonderland and your incredible instructional film. Could you tell us how you felt on receiving so much praise for those awesome projects?

I take the awards very seriously, and every year I really look forward to the AVN Awards. To me, they are my reward for all my hard work throughout the year, and I love reading the nominations when they're released. This year, I was recognized for my new line of instructionals, which was thrilling. It's the second award show that has nominated my series, and it's the second time I have won! It's very inspiring to me, and I can't wait to put out the next one. I was also the voice and character inspiration for an animated adult parody of Alice and Wonderland, and as we were making it, it had a really special feel to it. To hear that it won was a great feeling as well.

Another well-deserved moment or moments at the awards were the great pleasure of having The Rocki Whore Picture Show win nine awards including Best Parody - Comedy. How gratifying was it to see all the hard work that everyone put forth on this film receive that recognition?

I think that winning Best Parody Comedy was one of our greatest accomplishments during this years' AVN Awards. Rocki Whore Hardcore Parody was Wicked's first foray into the parody genre, and I think it shows that Brad Armstrong is just as talented at directing a parody as he is an original feature. If anything, his attention to detail alone made this movie a raging success! When they announced it and we had the whole cast onstage, it was a great feeling. We really worked hard on that movie, and the recognition was really appreciated.

I adored your role as Janet in Rocki. You really captured the innocent essence of that character who deep down had a naughty side of her ready to come out once she became more sexually enlightened. How much fun did you have playing that character, singing on film, and being around the set?

Playing Janet was so much fun! Of course I was familiar with the movie already, but I did lots of research to play her. It was tough capturing the expressions and the attitude, but once I got it, it just kept going even when we weren't rolling. It was also really different to spend an entire movie in that outfit. It's not the most flattering look, but I had to do it. The singing was something that I always wanted to do, and I felt really relaxed doing it on such a lighthearted, fun set. Everyone else was already making fools of themselves. It was easy to join in and not be self-conscious. I tell people all the time that is by far, the set where I have laughed the most.

Going back to the animated Alice in Wonderland film, I would like to know how did you feel portraying a beloved cartoon character that we all grew up on as kids and making her into a sexual siren? Also, it had to have been a lot of fun to go to the studio without any make-up and just voice your role. During the sex scenes, was it pretty funny making those moaning and groaning sounds without actually performing any sex? You must have laughed a lot.

I always thought that Alice would be a sexy role. I even have an Alice in Wonderland feature dance costume. I really enjoy doing voiceovers. I do them quite often for my movies and others as well. As for the sex noises, I did a series of Japanime called Discipline and I had to do the same thing. There are ways that I like to do it, little secrets I have, but yes, sometimes what you're doing vs. what you sound like are two totally different things!

I am so pleased to see your instructional series perform so well with critics and the fans. Could you please tell us how you decided that you wanted to make a line of instructional sex films? Could you tell us one moment when a couple told you that your films were a significant help to their sex life and how did you feel that your work made a huge difference for them?

A few years back, I began noticing a change in the crowds that would come see me and the other Wicked Girls. We went from mostly men with the occasional uneasy woman to seeing couples, even single women. I always talk to fans a lot during and after my signings, and I kept getting sex questions, questions that they didn't want to ask their partner or best friend or sister or doctor, etc. I would answer them, and in the back of my mind I began to formulate a plan. I first began traveling and doing seminars, and then created the line. Current volumes include Fellatio, Basic Positions, Anal Sex, Female Masturbation, and coming soon is Threesomes. So far they have done very, very well, and I am grateful to Wicked for the chance to create and develop this line.

My first experience where my instructionals directly affected someone's sex life happened not long after the Anal edition was released. I was at a store signing when a female fan approached me. She credited me 100% for her success and love for anal sex, but I reminded her that it was actually 100% her. I just helped her open the door. That feeling was amazing to me. I have been the source of sexual inspiration for men for quite a while now, and to be able to give something back to women and couples is something I'm very proud of.

How long have you been in the industry, what have been your most pleasurable moments so far? What has been your least pleasurable?

I've been in the business about eleven years, though for two years in the beginning, I didn't shoot much. By far, my most pleasurable moments have been things I've done either for Wicked or while I've been with Wicked. All of the international travel and meeting fans, doing conventions, hosting numerous TV shows and award shows, writing, directing, and all the mainstream exposure. The least pleasurable has not been my doing at all, but rather the constant fight of the porn "stigma" or stereotype, but if I had it all to do over again, I wouldn't change anything. I am happy.

You are breathtaking in Boy/Girl and Girl/Girl scenes. What traits of a woman do you admire most? What makes a woman sexy? What traits of a man do you admire most? What makes a man sexy?

I love both men and women equally, and for different reasons. I can find beauty in every woman. I like their eyes, soft skin, and their hair brushing against my skin. I prefer natural breasts and round asses, but like I said, I love them all.

In men, my taste is quite a bit more specific. I like my men older, worldly, and dominant. I prefer guys with more "real" bodies than weight-lifters. I don't need to see huge muscles to recognize strength. Beautiful eyes are a plus.

What has been the biggest surprise for you about the adult industry?

My longevity and success and I attribute it to two things: Wicked, and my propensity to be a workaholic.

Are there any industry people (actors, actresses, directors, etc.) who you have not had the opportunity to work with yet and want to very badly and why? What would be your dream scene?

One word. Belladonna. Okay, and John Stagliano.

 
What are your hobbies and interests?

I enjoy working and creating. Aside from that, I do yoga and pilates. Travel is my real passion, and I also love to cook.

What's your favorite thing about being an adult performer?

Making fans happy. I love it when they tell me how I've inspired them. Being a performer has also taken me all over the world, and that has changed my life too.

Are there any web sites or future projects that you would like to promote? What are you currently working on film wise? Is there any plans to work on another animated film?
