Tanya Tate interview

I had been a guest on Vivid Radio shows fairly often, and I was interested in having one of my own. After filling in a couple of times, an availability opened up and the offer was made. I was thrilled. It is an honor to join Vivid Radio. It is fun, sexy, and always entertaining. I listen to the other girls' shows while I'm driving around. Not only am I a host, I'm a fan. The Tanya Tate show is a reflection of that fun and sexy vibe. I'll tell me naughty stories, my fantasies. I'll talk to the lads who call in to 855-99-VIVID and occasionally have one of my sexy girlfriends stop by. 

Could you tell us about your past experiences in being a radio show host?

I was working in an office close to my hometown of Liverpool, and was looking for something more exciting in my life. I was watching an adult movie with a friend and decided I wanted to do it. I had some photographs taken, researched the UK market, and sent them my pictures. They liked me, invited me to shoot in London, and here I am now living in LA. 

I am so happy that your cosplay activities are becoming more popular. What is it about cosplay that makes it so much fun for you?

I think making the cover of FHM in Turkey was a highlight, one that I never expected. Also being on the cover of AVN was very cool too. But, what really stands out to me was winning the UK SHAFTA award for MILF of the Year for four straight years. When I start thinking back over my career, I think I have been very fortunate to have had so many opportunities. Even now, having my own show on Vivid Radio is a highlight. Performance-wise, Tanya Tate's Sex Tour of Ireland is always going to stand-out as what put me on people's radars. I'm also very proud of Tanya Tate's Cosplay Queens and Tied Up Teens as well. That was a movie I directed where I merged my love of cosplay with lesbian lust.  

I know that your fans adore you. They must get pretty excited when they meet you. How do you feel when you meet them? Are there any very memorable moments that stick in your mind when you and a fan met?

My fans are incredibly awesome and very supportive, I call them the "Tanya Taters". It is an extreme joy to meet them at shows like Exxxotica or San Diego Comic Con. They can't wait to talk to me about the geeky stuff they collect or movies they have seen. I always have fun with them. One of my most memorable moments was I tweeted that I was at Downtown Disneyland and had dinner at one of the restaurants. When it came time for the bill, I found out that it had been paid. Turns out one of the lads who worked there was a fan and saw the tweet! He picked up my tab for me. I thought that was very kind.

I have always been someone who believes that most male performers get a bum wrap since they do not receive the proper recognition that they deserve. As you already know, it is not easy for a guy to be a reliable sex performer. It is hard work. Could you name a few of your favorite male partners who you have worked with in the past?

The guy has to want to pleasure you, we have that chemistry together, and he has to be a strong performer to make them one of my favorites. I have done some great scenes with James Deen, Johnny Sinns, and Xander Corvus. 

Many adult performers love animals. Do you have any pets?

No, not yet anyway. I travel far too much right now. In the future, I would love to own a boxer dog. I do support Tippi Hedren's Shambala Preserve and I visit there quite often. I have a tigress I sponsor named Precious.

Are there any of today's female stars who have those special qualities that impress you so much? Could you name a few of the ladies? Why do you think these ladies are so special?

There are girls out there who have a certain sexuality about them that turns me on. I love girls like Julia Ann, India Summer, Jelena Jensen and Riley Reid. They are all genuinely into pleasuring a woman and are very sexy. I still have a few hotties on my wish list whom I would like to work with - Lexi Belle, Tori Black, Teagen Presley, and Alexis Texas.

What makes a man sexy? What makes a woman sexy?

Confidence. I know that is a cliche to say, but it's true. You have to be confident in who you are.

What are your hobbies and interests? 

I really don’t have too much time for hobbies. But when I get the chance to enjoy myself I like to go to the theater. I like going to see movies, or going out for a good meal. The obvious hobby of mine is I like to dress up as a superhero. I’ll go to comic conventions dressed in uniforms of superheroes like Emma Frost or Susan Storm of the Fantastic Four. 

What is your opinion on the political fuss about male performers wearing condoms on camera? Do you think that it will hurt the industry? I always thought it won't hurt it too much since guys want to see a gorgeous woman get screwed. It's the eye candy appeal of the woman that is the main attraction.  

Will it hurt the industry?

Probably not. 

I am impressed with your work as a director. What is your vision when you direct your talent on a set?

To make the hottest movie I can. I really try to book and pair talent who will have the most chemistry so that the sex will feel really organic. I strive to capture that heat and turn the viewer on. 

I like that you own and run Star Factory PR. How much pleasure do you receive promoting your amazing clients?  

I always have something going on. I have the Tanya Tate show on Vivid Radio, Tuesdays at 3pm PST on SiriusXM 102.
