Let’s Meet Dakota Skye

We at XCritic have totally been blown away by Dakota Skye. In the business just under a year and a half, she’s performed in some pretty memorable, career-making scenes that make it hard to believe she’s still a relative newcomer. But all her hard work and the goals she’s set out for herelf have gotten her noticed by the elite members of the industry, being awarded a handful of XBiz and AVN Awards recently. With star making turns in films such as Hard X’s Anal Cuties, Evil Angel’s Anal Ambitions, her showcase turn in Digital Sins’ Meet Dakota, plus upcoming scenes in Jules Jordan’s Rump Raiders 6, Slut Puppies 9, and Digital Playground’s Bubble Gum Girls, 2015 is looking like another big year for the spinner/starlet. As Dakota tells XCritic, her Best Anal Sex Scene nomination was the one nomination she most coveted as performing anal was one of the goals Dakota set out for herself. Not being a big fan of anal sex not too long ago, Dakota is now one of the go to anal performers. Expect bigger things to come from Dakota, and lots and lots more anal scenes from this anal cutie!

Congrats on your recent AVN nominations. I believe its six nominations in total.

I got six main ones but the night of the nomination party I was waiting to hear about best anal nominations. So the whole night I was so distracted by that, that I didn’t pay attention to the other nominations I got. So I think it’s six main ones.

What are some of the nominations you received?

I was nominated for Best Anal Sex Scene, Best Boy/Girl Sex Scene, Best POV Scene, Best New Starlet, Best Star Showcase, and Best Three-way Sex Scene.

Those are big awards too, congratulations. Is it overwhelming that you’ve been nominated for so many awards your first year in the business?

Thank you. I’ve only been in the business a year and a couple of months. It was overwhelming to be nominated that I cried and I’m really not that type of person. I’m not really that emotional but I cried when I found out I was nominated for Best Anal Sex Scene because that was one of my goals for this year. As long as I was nominated for that I’m happy. I couldn’t ask for more. I feel like the pressure came off me more now that I’ve been nominated because being nominated alone is amazing. I’m not really worried about winning but the fact that I was nominated is amazing.

Why was the anal nomination most important for you?

Before everything started this year I just set some goals for myself. I did a lot of anal scenes this year and that was the one thing where I set a goal for myself and if I can do it and get nominated . . . I mean it was amazing to be nominated for everything. I guess I just never thought I’d do anal and succeed with it because I didn’t like it at first, now it’s like my favorite thing to do.

What was your immediate reaction when you found out you were nominated for the other awards? Best New Starlet is a major award.

I was definitely overwhelmed and excited. I was screaming the whole time but for the anal award I cried. The Best New Starlet nominations were the last nominations mentioned and my name was mentioned last. There was a lot of waiting for that. That one was definitely a little overwhelming.

How was the AVN Nominations Party? Was it a lot of fun that night?

It was fun seeing all those people. It’s always like a family reunion.

One of the awards you’re nominated for is for Cutest Newcomer, but that’s a fan award. Would winning that award mean more to you because it’s coming from the fans not a bunch of industry people?

It wouldn’t mean more to me but it would definitely have a different meaning to me especially since I’ve been involved in a couple of them and I haven’t won any fan awards yet. So if I win it would be my first one and that would definitely be a good mark for my career. It would be exciting.

You’re nominated for Best New Starlet and your showcase DVD Meet Dakota, were nominated by AVN and XBiz. How proud are you of your work since you’ve entered the business? Did you expect this many accolades so early in your career?

Honestly, not at all. I can say that I came a long way in the business. When I started out I didn’t expect to come this far this quickly. To be a Spiegler girl on top of these XBiz nominations, it’s been crazy and I didn’t realize I’d come this far this quickly so it’s definitely been a good thing.

Would you say Meet Dakota from Digital Sin your best work to date?

I would say either that or probably my first sex scene for Kink.com which was with Tommy Pistol, but that’s only because I push myself a lot. I went in and thought, “I’m not going to do this, I’m not going to do that,” and then I got really curious about it. As the day went on I pushed myself even harder. So that scene I think is one of my best scenes as well as Meet Dakota.

You mentioned being a Spiegler girl, most of the nominees in the top categories are Spiegler girls. What’s the best thing about having Mark Spiegler as your agent?

Honestly, for me personally is the responsibility that comes with it, the brand that you represent and that you have a reputation to uphold. A lot of girls that go with Spiegler they end up changing in a really positive way because we have so much responsibility to deal with, and that’s a positive thing.

You have two titles from Jules Jordan coming out soon, Rump Raiders 6 and Slut Puppies 9. Were both scenes anal scenes?

Yeah, they both were. They were among my favorite scenes that I shot so far. I love working for Jules, he definitely makes really good material. I feel like every time I shoot for his company I want to push myself further and harder.

Most of the scenes you’ve shot have been for gonzo studios. Have you done any feature acting work, parodies, etc.?

I just did one with Mile High for Sweet Bodies. I did a scene with Steven St. Croix . . . that was really good. Bubble Gum Girls from Digital Playground . . . that was a while ago. We shot it six months ago and it just came out. I actually watched the whole thing and that was my first feature. That was a lot of pressure because I hadn’t done any. I did theatrical stuff growing up; I was in theater so I’ve never done films, and it was really hard because those two are very different. It was hard for me to separate it. I had Tommy Pistol as my male talent and he helped me out a lot with my acting.

Bubble Gum Girls had a martial arts theme?

Yeah, we actually got suspended in the air.

In the beginning of your career you didn’t do anal and now it’s your favorite thing to do as you mentioned before. Are you being booked mostly to do anal scenes?

I get booked for it a lot, honestly. That was one of my main goals this year to be nominated for my anal scenes. After this coming AVN I’m going to be expanding my horizons after this year.

Have you done DP scenes yet?

No. [Laughs] I haven’t done anything other than boy/girl, girl/girl, group scenes, fetish but not gangbangs. I did technically one gangbang but it was a small one. I haven’t done DP or interracial.

As you just mentioned, are those on the horizons for 2015?

Yeah. I have them planned. I’ve kind of been planning things out. I have a good idea of what I want to do and when I want to do it. I’m definitely not keeping anything back I just have a plan on when it will all be released.
