Throwback Thursday: The Fun Adventures of A Bisexual Succubus

Here’s a fun fantasy binge watch that you may not have seen!

Hey Fleshbot fans! Hope y’all survived and even maybe enjoyed the holiday season. Now it’s time for the January doldrums. I thought what’s more fun for long winter nights than a good sexy binge-watch series that you may not know about so my first Throwback Thursday pick for 2025 is Lost Girl, a Canadian TV series that ran from 2010-2015 in the US, Canada, and Australia. Let’s get into it!

If you loved Buffy, Angel, Charmed, Supernatural, or really any combo of those, you should definitely investigate Lost Girl, which is definitely more adult than those shows. The basic premise of the show is that our protagonist, Bo Dennis (Anna Silk) was raised by an adoptive family and never knew her birth parents. Around the time she started puberty, weird stuff started to happen, and oopsie, her high school boyfriend ended up dead while she was redeeming her V-card. Yikes on bikes!

The series follows adult Bo in her quest to find who she is and where she came from after she runs away from home and lives a nomadic existence every time, moving every time she has another incident where a lover dies. It turns out that she’s a succubus, a mythical creature who feeds on sexual energy. In this universe, succubi are members of the Fae races and both the Dark and the Light Fae want to claim Bo for their side, but she’s not interested in picking a side. She’s gotten to be quite the badass and in the first episode, rescues Kenzi (Ksenia Solo) after Kenzi’s roofied at a bar. Bo and Kenzi become the best of friends and form a private investigator firm, attracting yet more attention from the Fae as they solve problems for humans and Fae alike.

Bo has learned to control her abilities somewhat, because, well, the whole dying thing. Sometimes, other supernatural creatures such as hot werewolf cop (yes, I know, ACAB, but he’s fictional so it doesn’t count) Dyson (Kris Holden-Ried) can handle her powers during sex and stay alive afterward so he becomes a love interest for Bo, as does human doctor Lauren Lewis (Zoie Palmer) and we follow the cast of characters as they encounter mystical drama and hijinx and many creatures from the mythical world. I found it compelling and of course, there are tons of really attractive people in this show.
