Making Money Is Easy-Peeing

In my column Only in Florida, I'll be taking you down to the Sunshine State for the latest and greatest sex stories that can only be found in the craziest state in the union.

Making ends meet and living paycheck to paycheck is a common way of life for many people these days. Whether you have a ton of bills, student loan debt, or even credit card debt from when you went on a spending spree, it isn't at all surprising that people can do some crazy things to help earn a little extra money. It could be working at a job you thought was beneath you, you could sell your plasma (or other fluids) to make some extra dough, or in the case of one particular Florida woman, you could sell positive pregnancy tests. 

Yes, this Jacksonville resident put an offer up on Craiglist (of course) offering her pee-soaked used pregnancy tests that are positive for $30 bucks a pop. Apparently business is flowing a pretty steady stream.

“$200 in a day off, something I have to do no matter what,” the woman told WJAX-TV. “Me being in college working on a bachelor’s and needing all this money to pay for a degree, this was a no-brainer.”

Of course, this Florida Woman doesn't ask why someone would want to pay $30 a positive pregnancy test. I guess she feels like it's none of her business what happens after she pees on something and gets paid for it. There are some similar listings on Craigslist (of course) that say a positive pregnancy test can be used for all sorts of fun stuff, like a funny joke on your boyfriend or to get him to finally pop the question. As you would suspect, there are some out there who don't see selling positive pregnancy tests as something positive (see what I did there?).

“Fraud is the first thing that comes to my mind,” law and safety expert Dale Carson said. “This is the kind of thing that makes legislators go ‘we need to pass a law that says you can’t do this."

I guess Mr. Carson doesn't have booming student loan debt or he's just a party-pooper. Though it does beg the question: Whatever happened to the good ol' days of stripping or doing a webcam? Then again, there is nothing easier than peeing on something.
