True Love Always: Male Performer of the Year Mick Blue Talks “Mick Loves Anikka”

Celebrate Mick and Anikka's Love!

AVN Male Performer of the Year Mick Blue is on his second year holding that title, and he is as hardworking and desired as ever. He has BAM Visions, an excellent production company distributed through Evil Angel that he co-founded with his super star wife Anikka Albrite, and top porn shooter Maestro Claudio that has been fantastically received by fans and critics alike. BAM's latest release, directed by Albrite and Blue is a hardcore star showcase called "Mick Loves Anikka". It is all about the love, marriage, and desires of the two and it is truly some compelling hardcore.

So congrats on being AVN's Male Performer of the Year for two years in a row! What does winning that feel like?

"Winning Male Performer of the Year two years in a row feels amazing! Especially because Anikka was hosting the awards show the same night. As with every year, all the other performers did great work as well and many were very much deserving of this award as well. I am very blessed to be lucky enough to come out on top one more time. I'm also super thankful to my wife Anikka, because she is my biggest supporter and without her, it would have never been possible."

Of your fellow nominees, who did you think was going to take home the trophy, other than you?

"Just to be nominated in this category is already a huge accomplishment and everybody on this list would have deserved to win one way or another. It would be unfair to pick any one person from it, because all of them are great in what they do and have my highest respect."

You are half of the first married couple to ever win AVN's Male and Female Performer of the Year awards at the same time. How was that year?

"First of all, I will always remember this very special evening! All I was hoping for on that evening was that Anikka would win Female Performer of the Year because she was working sooo hard for it. That we both won was exceeding all expectations and made a dream come true. Next to our wedding day, it was the best day of our lives. Following this event, the year was fantastic. We created our production company BAM Visions together with Maestro Claudio and so far the fans are very happy with our creations."

What inspired you to produce/direct "Mick Loves Anikka"?

"Anikka and I had this idea a year ago, but didn't know how we could combine all our elements into one movie. We wanted to create a movie that shows our love for each other on all the levels you can imagine. Capturing things that we love to do sexually but also what we love to do in our private life. We love nature and traveling, so it was very important to incorporate that in our movie. I shot all these outdoor teases with Anikka during our travels over the past year. It was very important to bring nature into this movie, symbolizing earth, water, wind, air, and fire. I'm very happy with how the movie came together. It is also special because it's the first movie Anikka and I have directed together. It is our big showcase release this year."

What do you remember most about performing in this movie?

"What I remember most is the great time I had with my wife Anikka during this production and especially the scene we shot in front of a waterfall during our vacation with a simple iPhone 6S on a tripod and selfie-style handheld. We arrived there super early to make sure nobody was around and just put the iPhone on a tripod and had sex in front of the waterfall. Of course, we had to stop a few times to get the handheld selfie shots so we are able to edit it together and so on. It was on both of our bucket lists to have sex in front of a waterfall and with this scene we fulfilled our longtime fantasy."

You respond to your fans a lot on Twitter. What kind of reception have they given "Mick Loves Anikka"?

"The fans are super supportive for us in every way. It's a beautiful feeling to know that our fans are positive behind our relationship and what we do. The overall feedback from our fans so far is great and all are very exited to finally see this movie. I hope the fans fall even more in love with Anikka, as I do, when they watch the movie."

What can your fans expect from you and BAM Visions in the coming year?

"I think the next year will be great. As the creative director in all our BAM releases directed by myself and Maestro Claudio, I am working constantly coming up with some new interesting and fun concepts so that all our fans are happy. I always tell the girl when I direct them that they have to imagine that we are taking a journey together in which the viewer can be part of. I love shooting the teases myself for every scene because it gives me a closer and personal connection to girls and I believe it transmits to the viewer. From there, once I step in front of the camera, the key point to capture the mind of the viewer is done and Maestro Claudio is the best at capturing all the great sex and so on with an amazing eye how to frame and angle the camera. That's what makes it so special. I know Anikka has some more fun and creative ideas for movies for BAM this year! She is an extraordinarily talented director and I love her creativity and how she creates fun concepts for the fans in her movies that she directs. What tips do you have on how to be a great husband?

"The most important thing to be a great husband is that you always admire, respect and love your wife. Never take anything for granted and share everything in your life with your partner. The day you get married everything becomes 'us' and you are a team with your wife in everything you do."

What advice would you give to a new male performer just entering the business?

"First of all, think twice before you start because even one scene will put a mark on your back 'til the end of your life because people will find out and judge you for it. Besides that, stay humble and let actions do the talking instead of the other way around. Respecting and appreciating the women you work with is the most important thing."

What do you think shaped you into the director/shooter that you are today?

"I started directing in 2004 and since then I have directed about 200 movies. Over the past 12 years I was extremely lucky to meet and work with some of the greatest directors of the industry such as John Leslie, Jules Jordan, Christoph Clark, Chris Streams, Mason, William H, Greg Lansky, and so on. Every one of them has their very unique style of capturing the sexual energy and erotic nature of the performers they shoot. Directing/shooting a movie is all about taking the viewer on a journey. Hypnotize him with the images and sound of the girl and make him part of the moment and sex. Especially when I shoot the teases for BAM Visions, I very much focus on these points because the first 10 to 15 minutes set the tone for the rest of the scenes I direct and perform in. As John Leslie always said, "The first images of the girl will always stay in the mind of the viewer." I always tried to create my own unique style for all my movies to give something very special to my fans."

How did BAM Visions get created?

"BAM Visions was created very uniquely. One day MimeFreak called me and said that Claudio Maestro was trying to find a new partner to produce movies for Evil Angel. His partnership with Mike Adriano had broken up. So I called Claudio and we set a meeting with Anikka, his wife Tiziana, Claudio, and myself. We talked about our ideas and created BAM Visions: Blue Anikka Maestro Visions, [with] Tiziana taking on the work of editing all our movies. Anikka, directing her own movies. Claudio Maestro being in charge of the technical directing aspects of videography and photography. And myself being in charge of directing, casting, creativity, and performing in the movies that are directed by Mick Blue and Maestro Claudio. I love to shoot my own teases because it helps me build up a better personal connection to the performers I am shooting for our stuff."

What you love most about creating porn for a living?

"I love the freedom that you can let your creativity fly free. If you have any fantasies you most likely will be able to fulfill them. And I love the idea that I make millions of people all over the world happy when they watch my movies and enjoy themselves."

How is being distributed through Evil Angel?

"Evil Angel is one of the biggest and best companies out there and it is a huge honor to have the opportunity to work with them together. They have the nicest and most professional people working for them and we are all like a big family."

What are Evil Angel's biggest strengths?

"The biggest strengths are that over the past fifteen years they created this top-of-the-line brand, which guaranties the highest and best porn for the viewers. And as we talk, Evil Angel always tries to improve within the market."

What have been your favorite BAM movies to shoot so far?

"My favorite BAM movies I shot and directed so far are: 'Anikka's Anal Sluts', 'Mick Blue's Best Day Ever', 'Mick's Anal Teens' and our newest and one-year anniversary movie, 'Mick Loves Anikka', which is the first movie that Anikka and I directed together."

What else can we look for in upcoming BAM releases?

"We are working right now on part two of 'Anikka's Anal Sluts', which I think very likely could be even better than part one."

What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

"The best movie I have seen in the past few months was 'The Hateful Eight'. I have been a longtime fan of Quentin Tarantino and I like his creative eye for his movies. He is, in my opinion, one of the greatest mainstream directors of all time, and continuously puts out excellent films."

Is there anything you want to say to your fans here at Fleshbot?
