“Halo 5” Features a Nude Cortana, But There’s a Catch

It's Nudity for the Sake of Nudity

There are many reasons why gamers are on pins and needles for the release Xbox’s Halo 5. It has great game play, the storyline is pretty interesting, and some people are probably excited to see one of the game's most famous AI characters, Cortana, in the flesh (so to speak), but you should be warned that it might be a trap.  

If some of you are unfamiliar with Cortana or the Halo series, Cortana is a synthetic intelligence character who gives backstory and tactical information to the player. The director of Halo 5, Frank O'Connor (yes, video games have directors now), let everyone in on a little secret. While Cortana appears to be in the nude, she is in fact not really nude and trying to get the upper hand.  

"She's not really nud ... but that's what it makes you think of," explained O'Connor. "So one of the reasons she [chooses to appear without clothes] is to attract and demand attention. And she does it to put people off so that they're on their guard when talking to her and she has the upper hand in those conversations."  

"It's kind of almost like the opposite of that nightmare you have where you go to school in the nude. You're terrified and embarrassed and she's kind of projecting that back out to her audience and winning intellectual points as a result."  

Whether you agree with nudity in video games or not, you have to admit it’s a pretty smart tactical move. If you’re a dude or lady playing a video game (or doing anything in life really) nothing is going to hold your attention more than nudity.
