Caitriona Balfe Credits Modeling For Helping Her Go Topless on TV

Sometimes when a model decides to take the leap into acting, it’s not really that successful. But every so often, it works out beautifully, as is the case with model turned actress Caitriona Balfe. No doubt her work on the runway, especially for Victoria’s Secret helped prepare for her role on the show Outlander.  

Before she was ripping open her bodice on Outlander, Balfe was walking the runway for some of the best designers in the world like Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Armani, Louis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta, Burberry, and in 2002 she became the first (and to this day the only) Irish model to walk the runway for Victoria’s Secret. Balfe admits that wearing little to no clothing during her modeling career helped her prepare for going topless on television.    

“Maybe some of my background prepared me. I’m so used to stripping off in a room of 30 people … and I think the fact that I’m out of my 20s helps. I’m just much more sure of who I am.”

Whatever prepared her for her breast baring ways, we are all very glad that she was ready to take on the role of Claire Fraser.

No word if Balfe has considered strapping on those angel wings and a sexy bra and panty combo and walking the runway one more time, but stranger things have happened.
