Madonna’s Topless Ball Gown Vetoed for Costume Institute Met Ball

CELEBRITY

Leave to Madonna to stir controversy at something as staid as the Costume Institute Met Ball. But that's just what she did when her choice of gown was rejected as too risque. Why invite Madonna if you don't want to get a little bit risque?

This year her choice of something like a mummy's wrap that is unwrapped would have garnished the event mucho press, as Madonna's exposed boobs tend to do, but the institute isn't good at playing chicken and balked at the prospect of the Boy Toy's boobs on the red carpet.

Remember last year's punk ensemble? It was a cheeky little retro turn that had us praising Madonna's gorgeous gams. It only makes sense that she would be sporting her jugs this time. Next year, we expect her to flash the vagina. We expect nothing less.

Of course, our favorite outfit is no outfit at all. That is something Madonna has been sporting since before she was even Madonna. Remember those black-and-white artist portraits that Penthouse published at the height of Madonna's Material Girl fame? Well, it was no surprise that without any material on she was more popular than ever.

Madonna-nude

Not that Madonna shied away from nudity as a superstar. She was perhaps the first star of her statue to release a coffee table book of explicit nudity and kink, called, what else, "Sex."
