We talk about German television quite often, mostly in regards to how their crime shows are simply chock full of boobs and sex. We love that! However, we feel morally ambiguous about this clip right here from the 2010 made-for-children's-TV movie, "Prinz und Bottel."
It's an adaptation of "The Prince and the Pauper," in which two boys—one rich, one poor—who look exactly alike, switch lives. Hilarity ensues and they learn a great deal about themselves but that's not why we're here. We're here to discuss the part when one of the boys is transfixed by a naked woman in the shower—a naked woman who is supposed to be his sister. What's up with that?
We're probably making a big deal about nothing, right? Our mild discomfort is a product of the inescapably Puritanical blood coursing through our perverted veins, and had we grown up in a country like Germany, we would accept the human body and the budding sexuality of the young as such plain facts as to make them non-issues, throwaway jokes on the German version of PBS Kids. All right, we can approach it from that angle.
So here are some nice boobs in a shower! And they belong to Neelam Schlemminger, a young woman who's appeared on "Tatort," the crime drama that recently brought us these boobs right here. Full circle!
