Professor Maitland Ward is trying to work her head around the lawsuit that her nemesis Mona Wales has spearheaded against her by using one of her former students as ammo against her. Ward's husband Manuel Ferrara wants to be there for her to support her but his own appetites--especially the appearance of Ivy Wolfe in the middle of a heart to heart between the couple--get in the way. The students are all abuzz about the lawsuit against Ward, especially Ward's teaching assistant Avery Cristy. Lena Paul finds herself struggling with her own feelings and ambitions as a mother and a student. Meanwhile, rich student Jessie Saint has been hiring Lulu Chu to ghostwrite her papers. When Chu has a big speech to give, Saint makes a crack at Chu about making her family proud which pisses Chu the fuck off.

Chu's family has ejected her from her home and from their lives with her because Chu chose human sexuality as a major.
