April Olsen was the Fleshbot readers' choice for the Best New Starlet at this year's Fleshbot Awards and she has done a whole lot of great scenes this year including this great Tushy scene that she did with Milan. She has a whole lot of great stuff coming up that I was happy to talk with her about.

Hello, April! How are you doing? How are things?

"Things are well, thank you for asking. I’ve been working like crazy on many exciting new projects, I’m dying to share them with you all!"

A belated congrats on winning the Fleshbot Award for Best New Starlet! How did it feel to receive that award?

"Yes, thank you so much for the honor. It sits on top of my mantle, I get to look at it every day and remember the good ole days of my first year in porn. Oh, how we’ve grown since then! It made me feel like a real porn star receiving that award, thank you."

I was really happy that our readers chose you as their pick for the award. What other performers inspire you most in your work?

"The readers rock, I fully agree! I have a few porn crushes; namely, the women in this business who have built incredible careers for themselves. Angela White is an inspiration, I doubt anyone works harder than her. Riley Reid is a legend, and has extended her talents to behind-the-scenes with her OnlyFans management company. The both of them are porno success stories, I aspire to be like them."

You have a Darkko/Evil Angel star showcase on the way which is hugely exciting. Anything you can share on what it's going to contain?

"Yeah, it’s kind of a crazy one. I felt that if I was going to be a porn performer, I better act like one, so I really pushed my limits in this showcase. There will be plenty of 'firsts' for the viewers to witness, including double-penetration, airtight, and double anal. It’s the most hardcore body of work I’ve been a part of, and I’m so thrilled it was Darkko behind the camera."

You are such a queen with your strap-on like your Twitter handle used to say! What advice would you give to someone who wanted to add strap-on play to their sex lives?

"Once a strap queen, always a strap queen, but I’ve updated my handles to be more cohesive (@_aprilolsen on Twitter and Instagram)!…my advice? Find a harness that fits your body, and have your partner pick out the dildo. You want something sturdy but soft—too stiff of a dick will be uncomfortable for the receiving end."

What career goals do you have for yourself these days? Is there someone or something that you really want to do?

"I’m very pleased with the porn trajectory I’m on now, I feel that I’ve come a long way since I was first brand new and self-booking. I want to continue to work towards establishing myself as an all-around performer, doing both gonzo and feature scenes on the regular. With my showcase, I checked off so many boxes of new and exciting sexual acts, that I’m going to revel in this moment a bit before attempting my next big move! I want these things to happen organically."

What do you like to do for fun? What always makes you smile?

"Lately, I’ve been quite the gym rat, and love to spend a few free hours lifting weights or doing yoga. It’s incredible for the mind and body, and in this industry, you have to make it a priority to keep both sharp. I’m also a major homebody—truly, being home amongst my dogs is my happy place. Their goofy personalities always make me smile, they’re practically human!"
