Most Unusual Request:  That’s tough to determine because it depends what a person considers unusual. Are you currently promoting anything, something you want to get the word out on?

I’m really trying to push both my ManyVids store (sarastar.manyvids.com) and my website (sarastarxxx.com), which have mostly different content. I’m also attending the Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE) this year for the first time, which is super exciting!

How did you hear about camming and what led you to start camming?

It was part joke, part opportunity. I was at an interesting position in my life where I wanted to start doing some new, different things and camming was a great, safe way to really just be me in a new venue. I thought people would laugh at me when I started, but they actually seemed to like me, so I kept doing it and here I am.

Can you describe your very first time camming? Were you nervous or excited?

I was so nervous because I thought people were going to laugh at me. I’m kinda that awkward friend you don’t take to fancy places often because I make horrible jokes. Turns out people wanted to laugh WITH me!

Were you shy before you started camming? Did camming help you get out of your shell and are you more confident and comfortable with your body as a result of camming?

Shy isn’t a great word to describe me. I’ve always been pretty cool with my body, minus wanting more tattoos.

Does anyone (family, friends) know you cam? How do they feel about it or do you keep camming private?

My good friends know about what I do and they’re cool with it. They’re super supportive and love to hear about all my strange adventures and trips for expos.

Is it good money? How can you make a good living or at least make a good supplemental income from camming?

Camming can be a good source of income, but it does require a lot of time management and fiscal management because there are so many ups and downs in the business. There’s no way to determine what one week’s income will be from the next, even if you work the same exact hours. So it is a very erratic profession, financially, but it can be rewarding, with good management and determination.

Why are some cam sites a better fit for you as opposed to others? Are there cam sites that you feel don’t really work for you but others do, and why?

I’m really not sure why some work better than others. I’ve tried some BBW-specific sites and didn’t find any greater success on those than I did at other mainstream sites. I suppose it’s a combination of marketing and traffic structures.

In your opinion, what does it take to become a successful cam girl? How can a girl develop a large following, a high ranking on a cam site, make good money, etc.?

Determination. A model has to be very persistent and professional. Follow the site rules. Log on often. Logging on for an hour a week likely won’t garner a lot of fans in the long run. It takes time to build a following.

What do you have that makes you standout, unique from other cam girls? How long did it take you to find what made you standout?

I don’t know if I’m really a standout. I mean, being a BBW makes me standout some. But I suppose my heavy interest in fetish and BDSM doesn’t hurt either.

What is the best and worst thing about camming?

The freedom to make my own schedule and work for myself is great. The downside is a bit of the side, as I can only blame myself when things don’t go right. Also the waiting in a dead chat room can really suck.

What’s a big misconception people have about cam girls?

That cam girls are desperate, drug addicted, uneducated and otherwise unemployable women.

Do you ever meet up with any of your cam regulars? Have you ever and was it a good or bad experience?

I’ve only seen any of my cam fans at conventions. It was pretty neat to meet!

Is this statement true: “Cam girls are the new porn stars.” Why or why not is this statement true?

I’d say cam girls are a type of porn star. It’s all part of the industry. We’re like instant-gratification solo porn. You can dial us up in an instant and see exactly what you want. No fast-forward or skipping the stuff you don’t like.

Have you ever been nominated for any cam awards? What would be the ultimate award you’d want to win for being a cam girl?

I won BBWCon’s 2016 Camgirl of the Year award, which was pretty cool. I would love to win the Inked Awards Camgirl of the Year award one day. It’s just great validation to be nominated for awards, really.

What are your long term goals with camming?

My plans are to continue doing what I’m doing. I’d like to upgrade my cam room a bit. There is a new camera out I’m eyeing. Maybe a bigger bed and a different backdrop (or changeable backdrops). I’d even like to do some travel camming and co-cam with other great cam models.
