Veni, Vidi, Vulva! Let’s dive into some pussies!

Hey Fleshbot fans! April 23rd is National Vagina Appreciation Day! Established in 2021 by podcaster Whitney Cummings, this day encourages vagina-havers to celebrate this remarkable body part, take good care of their bodies and speak openly about sexual and vaginal health. Even saying the word vagina out loud is hard for people due to patriarchal bullshit and puritanical taboos, and that’s just not right. Over half of human beings have a vagina, and almost all humans were created involving a vagina in some way, so why’s it such a big deal? Well, that’s complicated, but we here at Fleshbot love us some vaginas and so do the folks at PinkLabel.tv so let’s delve into their offerings on this cool newish holiday.

Firstly, there is a wonderful playlist of a whopping 18 short films mostly from the 1990s and early 2000s entitled The Best of Vulva Massage about the various aspects of vulvas and how to touch them. Some are instructional, some are informative, some are just entertaining. One highlight of the playlist for me is Zen Pussy which is literally just a screen full of labia that change every minute with no dialogue where you can meditate by matching breath with the vulva owner. It is said that “contemplating vulva can stimulate creativity, access ancient wisdom, dispel shame, bring about enlightenment and arouse plenty of good, old-fashioned pleasure.” All of that sounds awesome!

Lest we think vagina appreciation is only about cis vaginas, I’d like to highlight 2019’s Her Pussy’s Debut which is a powerful and tender piece celebrating a trans woman’s first time receiving penetrative sex with her newly minted vagina.
