When last we left the “Space Junk” crew, there was much peril and adventure in outer space on the good ship Tank. Digital Playground’s beautifully shot, written, and performed epic continues in this third episode, where some questions are answered, a thief gets loose, and at least one alliance is questioned.

Two major storylines exist in this episode, and they are both compelling in their own way. Captain Dex (Xander Corvus) and cop Hudson (Danny D) have guns drawn as bad guy Krieger menaces them and demands the immediate repayment of money he loaned. This naturally results in much shouting and many threats of violence. Tired of all the yelling, Krieger rolls a grenade toward deadbeats and teleports away.

Meanwhile, Krieger’s goons are aboard The Tank and freaking bound captive Jaz (Ella Hughes) the hell out. Fortunately, Trix (GeishaKyd), the ship’s pleasure hologram, has a heart of gold and manifests so that she can lure the goons away from Jaz with her sexiness. She manages to give the captive thief enough time to break free, which gives the adorable but naked hologram an opportunity for some super cute costume changes. When ammo runs low, Kami (Tru Kait) appears miraculously and shoots the killing shot. Yay, Kami!

Just in time, Dex and Hudson escape to The Tank and find Jaz piloting it as well as she can while the shields drop, and an explosion becomes imminent. Because she’s awesome, Kami springs into action to avoid this catastrophe. Alas for her relationship with Dex, this provides him some time to get to know Jaz better. A lot better.

During some pre-pillow talk, Dex finds out the truth about his buddy Hudson, as well as why Jaz became a thief. “Trust does not come easy,” Dex observes. “No, but I do,” Jaz throws down before she gets him in a passionate lip lock.
