Farley Cahen began his journey at AVN as the Director of Internet Development, showcasing his foresight in the digital transformation of the industry. By 2004, he had ascended to the role of publisher for AVN Online magazine, a sister publication, demonstrating his versatile leadership and deep understanding of adult entertainment media.

Cahen’s last role at AVN was as Vice President of Licensing and Business Development, after which he transitioned to Digital Playground, a prominent adult studio, serving as its Vice President of New Media. This move underscored his continuous pursuit of innovation and growth within the industry.

The news of Cahen’s passing has brought forth a wave of heartfelt tributes from friends and colleagues, painting a picture of a man deeply loved and respected.

Kevin Blatt, a close friend and industry figure, shared, “Farley was more than just a friend, he was my brother.” He recounted their long-standing friendship, their shared dreams, and how Cahen’s selflessness and kindness touched the lives of many. “His loss is immeasurable,” Blatt added, expressing the profound impact Cahen had on his life.

Colin Rowntree, founder of Wasteland Studios, recalled collaborating with Cahen in 1997 on the blueprint for the first AVN Internext trade show. He remembered Cahen as a brilliant, inspirational, and caring individual who left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with.

In 2015, Cahen stepped away from the adult business to co-found MG Magazine, a cannabis industry trade outlet, with AVN co-founder Paul Fishbein, former AVN CEO Darren Roberts, and longtime AVN writer Tom Hymes. This venture was a testament to his versatile skill set and his ability to thrive in various industries.

Paul Fishbein expressed his sorrow upon hearing the news of Cahen’s passing, particularly empathizing with Cahen’s young family. Darren Roberts echoed similar sentiments, highlighting Cahen’s optimistic outlook on life and his profound impact on those around him.

A funeral service for Farley Cahen is scheduled for Sunday, Nov 12, at Mount Sinai Cemetery in Simi Valley, CA. The service will be followed by a “Celebration of Life/Shiva” reception, fitting for a man whose life was a testament to passion, kindness, and innovation.
