Extra's: The best extra here was a bonus scene between Lacey Duvall and a generic porn stud whose name escapes me. It was set in an insane asylum that really didn't fully utilize the potential of the setting but it was still kind of interesting. There were also 4 Behind the Scenes features that totally about 35.5 minutes (all were decent but Katja wasn't in the BTS feature for her scene). There was also the usual director profile, slide show, trailers, and spam too.

Audio/Video Quality: Barely Legal All Stars 4 was presented in the original 1.33:1 ratio full frame color the scenes were shot in by the late, great Clive McLean. There were some moments with mixed lighting that caused some grain but overall, the scenes were pretty good in terms of color accuracy, focus, composition, and other technical qualities. The stereo audio was about average in that you could usually hear the vocals without a lot of background noise but there was little separation between the channels and a limited dynamic range overall.

Body of Review: Over the past several years, Hustler Video has attempted a lot of different series in porn but only one of them has really taken off the way it should have. That would be the Barely Legal series sometimes goofed on by comedian Howard Stern. The general premise of the show is to get fairly young gals who have sex in a variety of settings as part of a fantasy narrated by an unseen gal. If you like vignette driven series showcasing newer gals (or at least younger than average gals), you'll enjoy most volumes. One of the recent decisions of the company has been to start using older scenes in compilation format, as it gives fans a more focused look at a theme and today's review is of Barely Legal All Stars 4, a set of 8 scenes (if you count the bonus scene) that all had some appeal to me, especially because they tended to be early career performances of most of the female performers. Like Volume 1, this collection had a lot to like (and it showed improvement over the initial offering) so if you're still interested, read the scene breakdowns below:

Scene One: Barely Legal 4: Adriana Sage, after driving in her SUV in the desert, took a leak on the roadway before being joined by Voodoo and Joey Ray. She's the cute gal on the upper left hand side of the front DVD cover and the Hawaiian theme of the scene was kind of nice given her all natural body and demeanor. In any case, her walk along the beach allowed her to showcase her beautiful body and the guys seemed infatuated with her as most of you would be too (remember: she was very new to porn when this scene was recorded). The sex was mostly oral and vaginal but there was anal with DP too (she mostly hung on for that action though). I think this was one of her best scenes to date and wish I had seen it previously (I only started seeing the Barely Legal series halfway through).

Scene Two: Barely Legal 11: Terri Summers, a book warmish looking brunette (on the lower left hand side of the front DVD cover), and average looking blonde Destiny, had a scene in a massage studio where Destiny was learning about whether she wanted to start a career in massage therapy (not the brothel kind either perverts). I really liked the lesbian antics here; especially the oiling up of the bodies, but the licking and toy play was pretty nice to watch too. I thought they had some decent chemistry together, although not as much as the first scene, and it was well worth my time.

Scene Three: Barely Legal 22: Katie Morgan, the blonde cutie shown as the second gal down on the left hand side of the front DVD cover, has long been a fan favorite for her attractive body and squeaky voice. This scene with Billy Glide had a Christmas theme as she wanted to unwrap his package in the living room. The sex was oral and vaginal but I liked seeing her so early in her career as she really showed some potential with him.

Scene Four: Barely Legal 36: "Ashley Long, the long legged blonde from England, and Mark Ashley, a scruffy looking dude, had a scene on a bed. She looked good doing the deed but she's shown more intensity in a dozen other scenes I've watched lately so my ability to get off on it was limited. I do like watching her though so even restrained, she's kind of warm."

Scene Five: Barely Legal 39: Katsumi, the Asian gal featured on the right hand side of the front DVD cover, was up next as she hitchhiked on the roadway. While this wasn't her first, or best, scene, the pairing with massive Lee Stone really showed off their contrasting nature (she was lean and little while he was large and muscular). He picked her up and they drove off to his deserted farm in the middle of nowhere to suck and fuck like they were desperately in need of some physical fun. They did oral, vaginal, and even anal sex with some significant energy although the chemistry levels between them were shaky. It ended when he dropped a small load onto her mouth.

Scene Six: Barely Legal 44: Here's what I originally said: "Ariana Jollee, a cute little brunette wearing a nasty little camouflage outfit, jumped Joey Ray on the couch in a machine shop. She showed her oral skills on him, but only for a minute, and then he did her for a few minutes. After getting her wet, they screwed in a few positions with some real heat. By this point in the show, I figured there wouldn't be any more anal (usually a good thing except the box cover advertised it) but she took his thick penis like a champion. I liked this scene more than any of the others, saving it in my eyes from a lower rating."

Scene Seven: Barely Legal 45: Katja Kassin, one of the most bootilicious gals at the 2004 AEE Show, sported her neon red hair and a skimpy outfit at a pool hall. With a host of onlookers, she picked up both Marcos and Steve who took care of her immediate sexual desires on a pool table. She gave them some great head and took their dicks inside her pussy and ass with no problems. She appears to be a modern age Mary Tyler Moore with the ability to turn the world on with a smile (or at least her hot body). The trio did a DP and both men fed her their semen in her mouth and on her face at the end. Whew!

Summary: Barely Legal All Stars 4 was worth a rating of Recommended or better, depending on how much you favor the listed cast of cute gals. In short, there was a lot of fuck for the buck with some nice diversity in styles and types of sex that allowed a guy (in this case, me) to enjoy it repeatedly. I have no idea how good the second and third volumes were but if Hustler has listened enough to improve the series as much as this volume is over the first one, I think fans will be very happy indeed. The sad passing of director Clive McLean raises all sorts of questions regarding the future of the series but I can safely say that the man will be missed by a lot of people both in and out (and in and out) of the porn industry for the way he conducted himself with all he met as much as the straightforward manner in which he directed his movies.
