Audio/Video Quality: Kink School: An Intermediate Guide to BDSM was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Dee Severe for Severe Sex/Exile Distribution. Dee was joined on editing by Duncan Toole and Ashes Wednesday lighting and cinematography by Jimmy Broadway, additional camera work by Blackula, Johnny Noriega, and Dee Severe. The lighting was slightly low but mostly flat and even, much of the camera work relying on a medium shot that was static while additional camera work zoomed in for more detail in the scenes. The bit rate was low and there were some modest compression artifacts when observing the show on my big screen television but there was no ongoing company watermark and the flesh tones were accurate. The aural aspects of the show were put forth in a 2.0 Dolby Digital encoded stereo English, the vocals plainly heard and the generic music only lightly played in the background.

Body of Review: Dee Severe is a well known Mistress and director known for such hits as Treacherous that was nominated for some awards recently, the woman starting Severe Sex with Jimmy Broadway to be distributed by Exile Distribution. The first of their movies that I have seen under the new label is an educational flick called Kink School: An Intermediate Guide to BDSM, the introductory volume in the series and a couple of cuckold titles pushing men to suck cock passed up to allow others a shot at reviewing them. I really wasn’t sure what to expect here before I watched it since I heard very little about the Kink School series, an earlier effort years back under a related label generating some fond memories but the field largely wide open given the general distain many have for BDSM.

The format of the scenes was to introduce a topic and most of the comments came from the lead while demonstrating on a bed some basic techniques, a text recap at the end of each segment mentioning the highlights with some special areas of caution. The introductory volume of the series was referred to in passing but it was not mandatory to see it to garner tips for spicing up your sex life and exploring the world of bondage, discipline, sadomasochism (BDSM) which has gone from a tiny niche populated by extreme personalities into a somewhat more mainstream realm of discussion thanks in part to the popularity of the “50 Shades of Grey” trilogy and upcoming mainstream movie. Like anything else, exploring different sexual practices can be very fulfilling and the realm of BDSM has a tremendous amount of variation to look into, some of the practices looked at in more detail here including cock & ball torture (CBT), facesitting, paddling, and forced orgasm, future volumes likely to look at other areas of great interest (your imagination is the only limit). Here’s a very brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene Three: Bondage: Jay Taylor, Tim Woodman: Curvy hotty Jay was tied up by Tim, tips on how to secure your subordinate without causing permanent damage were touched upon.

Scene Four: Forced Orgasm: Lily Cade, Lauren Kiley: Lily wore a suit and took the dominant role with curvy Lauren in red bikini undies, by tying her to the bed and applying a wand vibrator as she included some variations.

Scene Five: Paddling: Charli Piper, Dominik Kross: Sexy Charli was then spanked by Dominik, a man often seen in cuckold or femdom movies as the subordinate. She had a ripe rump that responded nicely to his paddle and hand on the couch, her ass getting reddened quickly by his actions.

Scene Six: Face Sitting and Ass Worship: Aiden Starr, Jimmy Broadway: Aiden, dressed in sheer red and black lingerie, then showed how to safely engage in face sitting, the weight bearing action dangerous if done incorrectly. The bonus here, of course, was getting to see Aiden’s curvy ass and other body parts though Jimmy got to taste them as well.

Scene Seven: CBT Playtime: Cybill Troy, Jimmy Broadway: This portion just emphasized the tips learned earlier without an overt education component, both partners having fun as she pushed his limits (Jimmy naked and Cybill in a sexy black latex/PVC outfit).

Scene Eight: Forced Orgasm Playtime: Lily Cade, Lauren Kiley: This portion was another demonstrated scenario where the educational component was not as explicit, neither addressing the camera as though teaching.

Summary: Kink School: An Intermediate Guide to BDSM by director Dee Severe for Severe Sex was enjoyable and had some tips for those still fairly new to the subject at hand, the individual educational modules or scenes touching on some examples of practices you could use to enhance and stimulate your own sexual growth with a suitable partner. Rating something like this is not easy for me since most of it was not particularly strokable and it was on the dry side at times, educational endeavors in general of this nature best used as a means of opening up discussion and perhaps some experimentation than just to pleasure oneself so I’m going to rate this as a Rent It unless you’re extremely vanilla to start with but want to learn more about some of the kinks discussed. The cast were helpful and the technical values decent, the extras on the light side but in general I think many would benefit more from watching Kink School: An Intermediate Guide to BDSM than seeing a watered down Hollywood flick derived from a fairly tame set of books popularized by those who have yet to walk on the wide side nearly enough, consider this at least 65 shades of grey by comparison, if you catch my drift. If you have any interest in BDSM at all though, watching movies by director Dee Severe (and Aiden Starr) will certainly give you much more to think about than that trilogy so give this a look and see if it might be for you.
