A SKINFLICK WITH A NOT-BAD PLOT

Porn vixen as gumshoe. That's how you can sum up this sexy endeavor. A gorgeous female homicide detective named Claudia—Devinn Lane—has lost her father Dan (Randy Spears). At first, he seems to be dead. But then it becomes clear that he's just missing. She tries to solve the case through the use of black-and-white flashbacks. Clichés abound, but hey, that's okay in porn. You can only laugh when, for no apparent reason, the action turns jarringly to a sex scene. Here we go.

SCENE 1

Renee LaRue is getting thoroughly licked by Max (Joel Lawrence). She has gigantic mammaries and a potty mouth, and she continually prays to God atop the bed, in the vein of "Oh my God, yes." He's got funny hair and a condom. Soon enough they're groaning and moaning as she takes it from behind. The camera angles are creative. The action moves to missionary, then she sucks him to fruition. It's a very mediocre scene to start the film with, although the cunnilingus at the start is arousing. Grade: C

After the sex finishes, we find out that Max is Claudia's partner. So that's how this scene fits in with the plot! Ingenius! Then, Diane (Shelbee Mynne) enters the picture, proving to be dear old dad's lover. On to a flashback!

SCENE 2

Diana and Dan get it on, and this is a better scene than the first. Although Randy Spears is getting a bit long in the tooth for porn (the role of a dad is testament to that), Diana is very attractive, and the sex is quite something. Shelbee has delectable labia, and we get to see them oh-so-close-up in a beautiful penetration shot. Of course, the entire scene is marred by a condom, but there's no denying the heat in this scene, which goes from cunny-lapping to reverse cowgirl to missionary to blowjob to messy face. Grade: A-

Afterward, Claudia goes snooping at her dad's apartment and finds a key clue, as well as a threat from an unseen villain. At this point, the story is becoming a wee bit plot-heavy for a jack-off flick.

SCENE 3

We meet Claudia's roommate, the thin but gorgeous Susan (Holly Hollywood). What follows is a work-of-art lesbian scene. This is the first we've seen of Claudia's body, and it's a nice one. She's got huge aeroles on large, seemingly natural breasts and a slight shyness. The two women kiss with a hunger that's warmly satisfying. They giggle and moan and sigh through their scene, trading acrobatic vagina-slatherings and dildo-ministrations. The scene has a playfulness and humor that elevates it above most of its kind. I will rewatch this scene. Grade: A

The plot continues to veer into unnecessary complexity and absurdity. But I have to give it points for trying. Actually, Devinn's acting ain't too bad. It's just a hopeless endeavor. Here, the plot ventures into the porn industry itself. Turns out, one of dad's recent cases involved the slimy underworld of porn. Here comes another flashback!

SCENE 4

This one's on the set of a seedy flick, so in an interesting twist, we see a porn flick within a porn flick. Three slutty ladies get it on with two dudes in front of cameras. The scene has a frenetic orgy feel, full of cock-sucking and labia-licking and great heaps of sex and more extreme close-ups of cuntlips and anal and toys. This scene was just a bit much, and the background noises of the set were annoying. Grade: C

But soon, Claudia is wandering through porn-tape warehouses, meeting porn producers and directors, and at this point I can see that the film is going for that nudge-nudge-wink-wink self-congratulatory thing. This was somewhat humorous in an obvious way.

SCENE 5

A porn starlet involved in dad's old case, Candy Caramel (Star E. Knight), and Claudia get down-n-dirty for some lesbian action. Although I felt bad for Susan back home, I got into this scene. I've met few lesbian scenes that left me cold. Candy isn't quite as dynamic as Susan, but she's fun to watch and has some very meaty labia, if you're into that kind of thing. The two trade labial favors and end up in a 69 atop a couch. At this point, I'm thinking, Yes, I'm enjoying this scene. Oh yes. Grade: A-

In the following scene, I actually laughed out loud when this film had the balls to feature a Mexican standoff, a la Tarantino.

SCENE 6

This one takes place in a bathroom hot tub, two gals (Devinn and Kristal Summers) and a dude (Lee Stone). He gets a blow, and then one of the girls takes him from behind as she introduces her tongue into the eager cunny of the other girl. Lots of water splashing. The action moves outside the tub for a little double-cowgirl action, then some more blowage. This scene is fairly arousing but feels somewhat tacked on. Not bad, though. Grade: B

AUDIO/VIDEO QUALITY

The full-frame image is pristine. As per usual with shot-on-video productions, there's a certain harshness, but clarity and detail are all that you would expect. Colors are accurate. Audio is clear, and the soundtrack comes across fine, if a bit softly.

You get a good 27-minute making-of documentary (full of arousing behind-the-scenes shots), footage of the box-cover photo shoot, 5 minutes of amusing bloopers, audio bios, star galleries, a behind-the-scenes gallery, and the usual plethora of Wicked promotional material.
