Audio/Video Quality: Daddy’s Home 2 was shot in crisp, anamorphic widescreen as shot by Jim Powers for Smash Pictures. While I found it interesting that Jim’s name was nowhere on the box cover or credits, his stamp on the final product was very discernable, the wall of lighting to enhance the resolution, his “back to basics” approach to the camera angles and framing, and the timing of the sex positions themselves looked like Jim all the way. While the editing looked a bit rushed and some of the shots were not optimal, the final product looked decent, the limited feature elements discussed below. The aural components were equally minimalist, any stereo effect added in during post production and the vocals sounding like they were captured using the camera’s microphone, the ambient sounds and limited music not a factor here; none of the technical aspects of the show credited which ALWAYS speaks volumes as to whether or not they are selling points of a movie.

Body of Review: Jim Powers is a popular, many award winning director for companies such as Smash Pictures. The man is well known for being able to weave a silk purse out of a sow’s ear on the smallest of budgets were properly motivated, hence my curiosity when he received no credit for his latest release, a title called Daddy’s Home 2. The movie is one of Smash’s first titles under their new condom-mandatory policy, readers knowing that I don’t really care either way in almost all cases about their use (frankly, I care more about Jim not being properly credited). The quartet of scenes were focused on young women portraying step daughters having sex with their step fathers, extremely limited story elements used to make the trysts “work” as I call it in terms of selling the action as a taboo encounter. That said, the use of genre regulars such as cover gal Ava Taylor and partner Stephen St. Croix was a wise one if the story supported their proven acting skills, the other ladies including Keisha Grey, Marina Angel, and Nicky Huntsman with top acts like Evan Stone, Anthony Rosano, and Christian XXX. The back cover described the movie like this: “When you're a young woman and your mother finds a new husband you pray he's good looking and a great provider. Even better has a big cock he's willing to share with you. Welcome to Daddy's Home 2 where four hot little step daughters get to ride daddy's cock in enchanting tales of taboo lust and sexual indiscretion. These girls better hope mama doesn't get home early.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Ava Taylor, the bespectacled young lady from the front cover, was up first smoking a cancer stick outside as she complained to a friend on the phone about her sorry life. Steven St. Croix portrayed her step father and a teacher, both of them agreeing that the unseen mother was lacking in parenting skills. The two moved inside and the discussion turned to sex, her suggestion of an older man to fuck driving him crazy before she made Stephen an acceptable alternative. She leaned over and kissed him, the token resistance so token that it was goofy on the face of it, their hands caressing each other as the clothing came off. She ditched the glasses and her top was lifted to reveal her erect nipples, Stephen sucking them before she gave him a brief knob slobbing with some hand to gland friction, her sheer panties exciting him. The edit point then showed him already inside of her pussy with an old fashioned, highly noticeable condom on his turgid pecker, the gal actively riding while greatly overdoing the vocals as her bald beaver impaled on the cock. Scene Two: Keisha Grey, a busty young newcomer with a juicy ass, was up next in the kitchen as Evan Stone made a meal for the family. The lack of build up again weakened the resulting encounter, at least for the genre elements, because as hot as she is, the point of the vignettes wasn’t just about a rumble in the hay. In any case, she joined him in bed and he sucked her tits as she rubbed his crotch mechanically, no real heat or chemistry though again, the sex itself wasn’t bad courtesy of the male end of things. The boob play led to him kneeling between her spread legs and he ate her neatly trimmed snatch all too briefly before she sucked him equally fast, some passive vaginal boning with condoms leading to a titty pop, much of the sperm looking fake.

Scene Three: Nicky Huntsman, a newcomer with less than a dozen IAFD credits to her name at this writing, was up next as questioning Christian XXX asked her why she was still in bed at 4 PM. Nicky mentioned that the reason her mother married him was to “take care of them”, the scenario already too close to one I was familiar with, which was why she did not want to get a job, her naked ass in bed coming out from the covers which surprised him. Summary: Daddy’s Home 2 by director Jim Powers for Smash Pictures was not one of their strongest vignette releases in the genre of family bonding taboo sex, the first volume of the series coming out around ten years ago. The story elements were never used to build up a believable connection between the partners and the technical matters sure needed some polishing up but otherwise the show merited a rating of Rent It unless you are a huge fan of the cast and blindly think they can do no wrong. In short, there was a lot of potential behind Daddy’s Home 2 but I suspect budgetary limits and time constraints held it back from allowing Jim to really shine, the cast certainly geared to this type of family outing (pun intended) as proven elsewhere but give it a look and see if you find anything more worthy of praise than I did, even you condom haters should note that a few of the prophylactics were barely noticeable unless you looked for them.
